You wake up tomorrow morning with a headache until you realize you're not in your bedroom but some white sterile labratory, and you're naked.

Just then a strange brilliant but mentally unbalanced scientist goes "Hey ummm... I'm Dr Audwin Von Klauhamur.... There's something I need to show you. Come with me." He seems uncomfortable.

For some reason you feel a complete and almost paternal trust in this scitentist that you don't recongize and follow him. He takes you to a hospital where you see yourself lying unconcious in an ICU bed tied to more machines than David Archer.

"See here's the thing. That's you... I mean really you. The real original mommy and daddy own brand 'you'. He got stabbed outside a bar by some big British guy, I dunno what happened. Don't care. Point is he was dying. So I saw an oppotunity to take some of his DNA and blood from the scene and use my prototype cloning technology that my moronic 'collegues' described as madness to use you as a perfect test candidate. I imprinted all the memories, emotions, neurosis up until the day before 'he' got stabbed. Then created you as a clone to believe you were him and that you just overslept. I planned to send you back to your life and make observations as you continued on, none the wiser. It would have been the perfect case study! It fell right into my lap!

But then a surgeon with a strange almost supernatural precise ability managed to save 'his' life against all odds when everyone thought he was a goner. Now he's going to be fine... Make a full recovery and you're kind of... Well It's awkward. I don't really know what to do with you anymore. I thought about just terminating the project before you woke up but..... I mean you're every bit as "Alive" as any other human now, I mean pragmatically you're exactly the same as that man in the bed over there. So It seemed wrong somehow. I just let the project come to form. I mean you're only like 15 hours old but if you have the same memories, loves, fears, emotion and body as that man, what's the difference?

Soo err.... I'm at a lost really. What are you going to do?"

Somehow you know that despite the farfetched story, he is telling the truth.

In high school I had to go to a statewide music competition in a city a few hours away and another guy there swore he saw my doppelgnger walking around.

At least with the paranormal stuff you only meet yours if youre about to die. Theres a story about that with Catherine the great.

You raise a good point

If you think you would get on well with your clone then thats a good indication that if you met up would get along

Of course real life is not the same as thoughts but it would be a good hint of what to expect
