Sure, regular batteries are stupidly expensive, 500x the price of the kWh vs regular electricity.

Yeah I've been using Eneloops for years. By that I mean the same ones I originally bought years ago.

They're good for remotes. They don't last long at all for anything that takes more juice than that though (meaning you have to recharge them often).
