Not talking about putting in your two week notice, im talking about quitting and leaving.

I quit once. I used to work in a call center, was honestly horrible. The place had almost no employee benefits, pay was bad, and they were up my ass about everything. My supervisor tried to write me up because I didn't offer a sale on a call. I told him to fuck off and I walked out.

I was a manager at a McDonald's. The second another job gave me the okay the next day i went okay bye about 2 hours into my shift. (My boss was a massive bitch, so I didn't feel bad)

Yeah, when I was a telemarketer for MCI. They were having an awards assembly that morning. I got my award for perfect attendance, told my boss I quit, and then walked out.

My third job. I was working for scholastic book fairs in the local warehouse making the displays. It wasnt an awful job, but everyone there had no soul, management was unrealistic and when I asked for my birthday off (a month in advance) they said I could only have half the day. Wtf? Worked that week and didnt go back the next.

I quit Best Buy after my first shift like 7 years ago or so. The workers treated each other terribly and I wasnt about to dive into that kind of work environment. After I quit, they claimed I never even showed up at all and didnt pay me.

Was working in a warehouse through a temp agency for about two months. (10 hour M-F, 8 hour Sat). They then informed us that Saturdays were going to be 10 hour days, and to expect to start working 8 hour shifts on Sundays.

I left at lunch and didn't come back. Called the temp agency and said something came up and I wouldn't be back.

Worked in a Comcast call center for about half a year. The benefits were nice, pay was decent and my coworkers and bosses were all pretty nice. But the customers were seriously awful, some of the worst trash Ive ever had to deal with in my life. I had some dude call in one day who probably had something wrong with him up top but he was just berating me up and down, calling me the nastiest shit, screaming and constantly talking in circles no matter how much I tried my hardest to help him. That asshole really stuck with me and I explained to my supervisor that it wasnt the right fit for me and quit the same day shortly after.

Yup, in high school I worked at a sub/sandwich shop for 3 years and I had an amazing boss for most of the time I was there and then she left because her family moved away and I got a new boss who transferred from another store and when I walked in to start my shift literally the first moment she saw me she didnt even introduce herself, she pointed at me head to toe like Get a new hat, shave your beard, tuck in your shirt, buy new pants. and walked away.

I remember I had my apron in my hand and I looked at the door, my apron, the door, my apron again, said fuck this and walked out.

Thats a big assumption.

Wtf would i stay a minute longer than necessary if a work place doesnt gaf about me or basic safety precautions?

the one where i finished my shift and didnt give notice was working for the most smug, arrogant, self important prick this side of trump and the story of that day is just absurd. When i can get a new job the next day why would i stick around working for some asshole silver spoon narcissist?

thas a pretty weird definition of professional tbh.

I've done that more times than I can count. I don't cotton to the toxic, power-tripping types who usually find themselves in charge of underlings and have no problems whatsoever walking away from a situation like that. There were two times I didn't do that and the last one made me wish I had, so now I don't give a fuck. My dignity isn't for sale.

Yes, with a large retail travel agency with outlets in Australia, New Zealand, North America and Europe. Toxic environment, questionable business ethics, and lack of support were just some of the reasons I quit after only a week.

Fortunately, not long after I ended up working at an independent travel agency in my hometown and things were much better in every way.

The 1st one for me was at the rest area I used to work at. My parents worked at one, I worked at another. Then it was discovered that my dad and the manager had been sexting each other. I have no idea if they did more, but it's likely they did. Mom found out and got totally pissed(of course) and quit on the spot. My manager told me to choose, my mom, or my job. So I walked out. They did call some time later wanting me back. Said that I was put into an unfair situation and that the manager was gone now. So I went back.

Second time was at my current job as a front desk clerk at a hotel. Someone kept stealing money from the register, and despite the cameras pointed directly into the register, they couldn't figure out who it was. They kept trying to blame me. So I started logging the cash count at the start/end of my shift and having the previous/next shift verify it. They changed the policy to be that whoever is on the clock when it's discovered short will be required to repay it. So if I counted it, I'd owe the money... I saw where it was going. I switched shifts, and my coworker discovered the money was gone and I hadn't even been there. She paid it back, but then they accused her of taking another $100 too. So she quit, and so did I. I was there arguing for her, but it didn't do any good. Eventually all the management got fired for fraud and such. Then I was asked to come back since they were short handed, and desperately needed a job. Do I did.

Kinda. In March I put in my two weeks b/c they basically hadn't paid me for two months of work. Had a weird pay schedule that obscured it. They finally gave me a check a day later, that I immediately took to the bank. It bounced over the weekend so I just walked in and quit for good on monday

Yeah my manager (he was fairly new to the site) for a sales job was trying to tell me I did nothing, wasn't getting numbers, etc, so I just asked 'what are my fucking numbers then?' He had no idea what my actual sales were, tried to end the 'meeting' by asking if we were done talking, I said we sure were and took my company card, company truck keys, and cell phone and tossed them on his table.

God damn best feeling of my life hands down. Rest of the office all basically quit within the next month too even people that had been around for a while, that guy was a toxic POS. I've seen him since and he won't look at me lmfao

I always had this mindset until I worked at a job that the boss always blamed me for past employees and his own faults. Never got a pay raise after a year despite coming home more sweaty than the last. On his last temper tantrum I said fuck this place.

Have you ever quit a job on the spot?
No.

If I've been treated badly at a job for too long, what I do is:
-peaceably inform my supervisors that I'm moving on for [insert unrelated reasons]
-put in my two weeks and continue showing up on time
-keep positive connections with staff for future references
and then
-discretely sabotage the ever loving shit out of everything not related to my job before checking out.

Ain't been caught since. I know because I still got them references. I'm good at this shit lmao.

Not on the spot. Closest was calling to quit like two hours before my first shift. I got a job at Walmart while in college. Specifically told them I could work from 3pm-11pm most days because of class. They then offered me something like 6am-2pm because "it's almost summer time, so you'll be done with classes." Never mind the fact that I could have been taking summer semester courses.

I went along with it at first because I needed the money, but the more I thought about it, I realized that, if they were willing to completely disregard my requests this early on, it was going to be a nightmare to work there. So, like two hours before I was supposed to go in for training, I called and basically told them, "Nah, I'm good."

Spoiler alert: bailing on a a shitty $7.25/hr job stocking shelves didn't have any real repercussions.

I'd have to feel completely and unacceptably disrespected to do that. Only time I've even come close is when I was bitched out my my boss at a restaurant I worked at when I was like 21. In all fairness I did fuck up, but he was kind of an asshole about it.

I was working for a beverage company stocking that particular product in grocery stores in the region. I was going to be starting my second summer doing the job. On the first day they told me I would be going to a more populated area with busier stores. I showed up at the first store and went to the back stockroom. My product was completely buried and high on a shelf. No one was around to get me my pallet and I was never taught to use the small powered fork-lifts (thought they had told me in the past to just go for it). I decided to say f*** it and turned around and walked out of the store. I called the area supervisor on my drive home and told him my car broke down and the damage was irreparable. He told me when I get a new car call him back and he'd put me back on the schedule. Never went back.
