Ive been playing Civ 6 a lot recently, so I guess I can give a few tips for that.
  • Build your farms in groups of three, so that they form a triangle. Once you hit feudalism (I think), youll get bonus food from this formation.
  • Try to have towns close enough to each other so that their districts can be adjacent so you can get bonuses to whatever they produce.
  • Try to settle at least 8 cities in the early game so you can do a lot for the rest of the game.
Honestly, theres way too much, so you should check out videos like from Potato McWhiskey on YouTube. He has a bunch of series that cover how to do playthroughs.

In particular, I would recommend Potato McWhiskeys recent Arabia series. He is playing on the hardest difficulty, but he is explaining all of his moves, so that should get you thinking on how to play your game.

6 is a lot better imo. Do you have the expansions too?

your first few builds when you make your capital city should be archers. I usually make 3, itll keep you safe from barbarians and once your archers/crossbowmen get to lvl 3 its way easier to take enemy cities
