Is it good? I've heard mixed things about it.

I beat the first one in 1 day. I've heard this one is longer.

I've only played about an hour so far but it it's a pretty highly remixed version of the first one. You have health now (hearts) and go through nodes, with each node being several levels. Levels seem to be random and are completed by killing a certain number of dudes (I think it's 5). They continuously spawn in, but once you kill a certain amount the remaining ones die simultaneously. After each level you choose a powerup that lasts the whole node such as more hearts, starting with a random gun, etc. as well as some more interesting ones like exploding projectiles. I've also seen an occasional curveball where a red dude's weapon is also red, meaning he can't be disarmed, or a red dude who deflects my bullet or projectile, which I don't believe was possible in the first game. No doubt there's more to see but that's what I have after an hour or so.
