I thought so at first, but it actually got old really fast. They all knew about each other, and that was less of a problem than I thought it would be. What was a problem was how expensive and time consuming it all was. I think the way you envision a harem and the way it plays out are just not so great. I would love to lie to you and tell you about crazy sex orgies and being Yu Narukami with all the girls fighting over him in the bar, but that's not how it was at all.

I used a dating site once in America for fun, got 5 matches in a week, all not good looking or interesting and just went back to dating people I meet in real life. I used a dating site when I first came to Japan, over 100 matches in a week. Meeting women here was so easy I couldn't believe it. Though I speak Japanese, so your results will vary. Did you use a Western dating app? Use Pairs or something targeted at Japanese people. They don't really use Tinder or OkCupid or whatever.

Depends on how you define it, but I had 5 regulars. I wasn't interested in doing one night stand types of things though and I didn't really meet many women who were interested in that (usually the ones that were had ulterior motives as well, including this girl trying to get me to go to her hostess club, lol). I will say the end to my harem arc was incredibly heart breaking. I still feel bad about some of them even though it's been like 2 years now.

Japan is somewhat of a guy pays for everything country. If you get married the tradition is the woman controls all the money and you get an allowance. It's definitely not as strong among young people now, so I usually was splitting bills, but their idea of dates is always something expensive. There is no Netflix and chill. They pretty much think going to your house means you're having sex (which isn't a bad thing, if she says she wants to take a shower you are definitely about to have sex).

My girlfriends in America rarely needed a formal date, it was usually chill and watch a movie or play a game. I think that's a big reason why I ended up with the girl I did. We both love Japan, the culture, and the language, but we often just want to chill and watch a movie or play games. It doesn't need to be a formal date every single time. Every girl I dated was an otaku though (most young people self-identify as one). In America finding a girl who liked anime/games/etc. was pretty hard. I always felt like I had to hang on to girls who did despite their issues. In Japan that's the default.
