Religious Institutions having Tax Free Status


The way I see it an important part of Freedom of Religion is protection of peoples right to practice their religion. The Qur'an says persecution is worse than slaughter

Some people say Religious institutions shouldn't have tax free status, but the way I see it putting taxes on them would restrict and make it harder for people to organize and set up their own establishments, especially poor people. The big institutions would be unaffected because they have the resources to pay any taxes that come

Those who do that did forget and are way off the straight path. There's a huge section within the Qur'an that says there should be no compulsion in religion.

Within reason - gathering a prayer group at a public facility (like a school) starts to impose that religion on others
