In my 'hood, the buyers have to agree to the contract as well

I was on a month to month lease and the new owners said they wanted to lease to someone else. I asked why and he said it's because I was paying under market, which was true. I had a hell of a deal, and is why the last owner went broke. I just offered to pay what he thought was fair, which was another $100/mo. Then I bought a house a couple months later

Yeah, I don't really get why that was never a bigger deal in all these packages. Government should have paid at least a certain portion of rent for certain wage brackets for people when tossing out all this money. Though anecdotally, we also may have a lot of morons blowing all their unemployment and not thinking about the future. Who the fuck buys a fucking $1000 TV at a time where you haven't fucking paid rent in at least two months?

i wish it was under better circumstances. my landlord sold the place to a new owner. luckily they didn't choose to evict right away had about 3 month's before he jacked up the rent with a month to month term.

here's hoping you have at least a month to figure something out if don't have a lease currently.

There's going to be a shitton of condos becoming available soon, though.

That's the endgame here. If landlords can't collect rent, and can't evict, there's no useful purpose in even having rental property. Either convert it condos, or sell it to someone else who will.
