I just decided to buy it one day, and man I can't believe I haven't played this sooner. I don't think I've ever been so attached to random town NPCs in a game before lol

also that ending absolutely crushed me

ah well, already have the second game bought (ended up getting it not even halfway through the second chapter in this lol)

I also bought Ys I&II Chronicles off of the same Steam sale

I'm torn between taking a break after 65 hours of playing this first game and playing something else, or just keep riding this train because now I'm invested in the plot

As for whether or not to jump right into SC, I think that depends on whether you think you might feel burned out by jumping into an even longer game. If so, maybe put some space between them. If not, choo choo full steam ahead. >_>

Yeah it's important to keep in mind FC is the shortest game a series with an average of 40 hours to complete

Everything else is in the 80 to 100 hour range

that chest is almost certainly the one you get if you go to the forest in the prologue before you're supposed to; there's a chest in the area where you wind up fighting Josette normally. It's pretty BS.

according to steam i finished fc with 75 hours and sc with 108 hours. I didnt 100% either one but maybe something like 90%

Took me like 50 hours to get through FC and SC. Steam has TC as 64 hours and i ended up doing almost all the doors in that. Really didn't think that much of the first 2 so pretty much just rushed through them. Ended up logging well over 100 hours in each of the Cold Steel games though.

Aw yeah Trails in the Sky.

I ended up playing through Sky FC/SC and Cold Steel 1/2 basically one after the other when I first got into the series.

(This was before Sky The 3rd was localized)

I am very bad at remembering to turn off games and my computer. I did 3 playthroughs and I'm sure none were over 60 hours

There's certainly a difficulty spike going into the second game, although I feel part of it is not having all my OP gears/arts/money stacks and just White Gehenna'ing everything into submission. Went with "Normal" difficulty again, but this time there's also "Easy". Still, outside of the Lorence battle, the first game felt a little bit on the easy side, so it's a welcome change.

This isn't really a playthrough topic (although a bunch of others hi azuarc are doing them), but I'll drop a few of my thoughts as I go along. Also nice to see the best character Olivier rejoin the party
