I don't see this being truly indicative of the restaurant industry as a whole though. People get McDonald's while they're out and about and need a quick bite to eat. I don't know many people that actively discuss with their family "let's order dinner tonight. What should we have delivered?" "McDonald's!"

Yeah. They are. I would think you would know what a food run is. When people go out to get food for a group of people. Its much quicker with fast food. So, youre lying to yourself if you say its not. And normally, its food thats easier to carry around, as opposed to carrying around those giant tupperwares you get from restaurants. Which also take a while, especially with larger orders. So, yes. They are good for food runs. Better than restaurants, at least...

I didn't say anything specifically about anyone's food choices, except for you since you don't want better food for all as long as you can get your big Mac and you think because I prefer salads and a glass of water that makes me a snob. Are all people who eat healthier than you a snob?

I'm simply coming from a place of knowledge that most fast food is terribly unhealthy, bad food is a detriment to society and I want better options for all.

Again, dont like Big Macs. Also, I dont care what food people want. As long as they can get what they want. You shouldnt care, either. And getting rid of fast food doesnt do much. People will still eat whatever they want. Just getting rid of fast food does nothing because it doesnt mean theyll just start eating better. Theyll still eat as good or as bad as they do now. Theyll just get the food from somewhere else. Also, fast food wont disappear. As Ogurisama said, its supply and demand. As long as the world wants it, which they seem to since theyre not all shut down and still get tons of business, theyll keep making. If one place stops, another will rise up and take its place. And you dont act like you were trying to be a saint now. Youve always said bad things about my eating habits or the foods that I like. What makes you a snob isnt that you like salads. But rather that when people dont like what you like, you would criticize their choice of food. Or any place they like. And that person in general.

And you act like people dont know theyre unhealthy. As many of us have told you before, we already know. Nobody said they were healthy. We just like them because theyre quick, or tasty, or just on the way to wherever were going. Most people arent going around saying theyre healthy. Or going there when looking for a healthy dinner. Many people on this board have said the same thing. Most of us know that fast food isnt healthy.

Youre the one that always makes things about you. You even made a topic recently about a man dying, and everyone mentioned how you made that topic all about you. And anytime any makes a food topic about a place you dont like, You come in spouting the same stuff...

And I don.the care of people want healthier foods. But Id rather not punish them by taking foods away from them that they like just because theyre unhealthy. Let people eat what they want. If its unhealthy, so be it. They can eat healthier if they want. And if they dont want to, then its fine...

I'm all for McDonald's closures. The food sucks, they treat their workers like shit, and the golden arches are one of the biggest symbols of global corporate capitalism next to Coca-Cola (side note: I lived in a rural village deep in the jungles of Sierra Leone and you could *still* get a can of Coke there; not enough food for everyone to have three meals a day, but they got Coke). There's plenty of other (better) burger joints and healthier fast food options. This is coming from someone who lives in like a two-mile radius of every single U.S. fast food chain in existence though. If you have the option, support your local restaurants and businesses and not corporate chains!

Not arguing with your overall points, but there are a plethora of balanced, healthy microwavable dinners at this point. Aside from the sodium content. Even the healthy options have too much sodium.

Who cares how much is sold, though? Most places sell unhealthy food. Not just fast food places. Grocery stores do, as well... Killing off fast food places, which wont happen, wouldnt get rid of unhealthy foods. Grocery stores would just sell more. Or people would make them. Its pretty simple.

I like how McDonald's rebranded their restaurants as McCafe to try to improve their image, as if their restaurants aren't still occupied by Honey Boo Boo family look alikes, drunk people passed out in the booths, and homeless drug addict couples using the bathrooms as a semi private place to have sex.

And that's just what it looks like at noon, don't get me started on what it's like there in the evenings or at night.

In general, the food with less sodium is more expensive tbh.

It's a big problem for people that are working poor, and many end up too tired to make anything at points.
