This is not of my business. That hypothetical 18 years old can date a 60 if (s)he wants. It's that person's body, not mine and I have no business interfering with that hypothetical person's private life. I personally do not want to date under 23, but that's just me.

Going up in age never seems an issue - but anyone past like 21 or 22 wanting to date 18 year olds is usually a creep.

You go through a huge mental shift when growing up in your 20s.

I dated people who were like 29 when I was 18 and I never got any problems with that. Why exactly were they creeps?

Yeah, adults can do whatever and I don't really care. I would say in general at that age it's probably best to keep within a fairly close age, but there are exceptions and whatever.

My wife was 18 and I was 23 when we met. As a nonspecific statement I'd say that is pushing the age difference but obviously I am an exception to my own rules. >_>

I edited my post a bit - but it revolves around how you start to view people younger than you, especially in that age bracket. To me, the only people who would then be attracted to that, tend to be in to some weird stuff, enjoy how 'easy' it is to manipulate them, etc. etc.

Tbh I always felt like it I was going to be an asshole, it would be easier to manipulate people older than me than younger(I am 32 now). It's just that ethically I would not be able to do it. But I had a friend(gay guy) who was flirting with older men to make them pay us everything. I genuinely felt guilty about it despite the fact that all his boyfriend paid me was some clothes and a dinner.

You go through a huge mental shift when growing up in your 20s. For me, around 23, I noticed that 18 year olds were "kids" to me. If I ever said like, "Oh look at those kids over there", I'd catch myself and go, "Wow, I got old".

Just mentally they were so young, immature, experienced with life, etc that they looked juvenile. So yeah, it's weird.

They can date whoever they want. But once they get up there, they're gonna find more and more creeps. I personally don't get the appeal of huge gap relationship. It becomes glaringly obvious that the people are in 2 completely different stages of their life and it constantly leads to compromise you shouldn't have to do at 18. It's selfish as fuck for the older person. It's hard to believe they deeply care for the girl when they're trying to get in the way of her meeting the full potential of her youth. Instead you're making her waste it waiting on tour dusty ass lol.

I know this isn't specifically about women, bit c'mon. We know the world. Let's not dance around it.
