Family entertainment means straight families only 0% (0 votes) 0 No. These people are crackpots 100% (5 votes) 5 The Hallmark Channel has recently announced another massive year for christmas themed movies with 40 of them this year...hopefully as long as the filming locations continue to shoot..but many fans for years have been disappointed that there was never any LGBTQ romance storylines..until now!! The network announced that its "Miracles of Christmas" will start October 23 that feature over three dozen new films with heterosexual holiday romance and the lack of inclusitivity left people disappointed yet agin..but now they said there ARE LGBTQ storylines, characters and actors now in the works! The network said Diversity and inclusion is a top priority and they look forward to exciting new programming announcement. Last year they faced backlash for its handling of LGBTQ images showing a lesbian couple getting married in a commercial. Conservative group One Million Moms sparked outrage over it and the network apologized and removed it..but then reinstated it calling it a mistake to remove it in the first place. The conservative group personally called Bill Abbot, the CEO of Crown Media to report the commercial as he said it was a "mistake" to air it at the time. GLAAD called the removl discriminatory and hypocritical for a network that claims to present family programming. Hallmark now will work with GLAAD to better represent the ocmmunity much like they have to include more people of colour to their films. The network is known to cater to conservative america with its small town themed storylines, albeit a hash of the same theme in many of the its film, was still a top watched program for the network.
