Sorry if I was misunderstood. I'll write it out clearer:

Dragon Quest 8 is better than ANY Final Fantasy game above Final Fantasy 6 (so FF7, FF8, FF9, etc)

I did not mean to imply that any Final Fantasy game was better than DQ6.

That seems a odd comparison. Mind you I've only played DQ 11 and yes that's better than GTA V.

Okay, I'll bite.

I enjoy the hell out of DQ11 but it is in no way better than DQ8. Almost every single aspect save 11's better graphics and Sylvando DQ8.... crushes. Yangus, Morrie, and Trode are all awesome, the alchemy pot is better than the fun-sized forge (though the forge is indeed fun), the world is put together better, you don't need to inflict draconian challenges on yourself to keep it from being piss easy, etc. And I'm a huge DQ fan. Been playing these games since '88 IIRC.

In fact I enjoy 3 and 5 better than 11 too.

I'll add that even the 3DS version of 8 is even better than the PS2 game. Way more content. Loads more. DQ11 is great, but it's too long and in the bad way. The pacing is not great. I think when they make DQ12 eventually they'll really hit it out of the park with what they learned making 11.
