I really don't understand going all out and spending extra money. Sure, you will need more food if people visit but even then, people overeat and have a lot of leftovers.

I dunno. Maybe I'm just not a huge "foodie" and don't really want to spend all that time and money cooking and cleaning.

I think it's fine to treat yourself or something like that but you don't gotta go crazy with food.

Nor do I really feel the need to stuff myself sick.

I mean, the leftovers are the best part. No cooking for days. What's not to love?

The giant mess? Variety is important for me. I could just freeze some stuff though.

Thanksgiving is amazing, otherwise I don't care.

I like taking stuffing, turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, among other shit and mashing it all together into a holiday casserole. Then I get drunk off like 4 bottles of wine and eat too much of it until I pass out watching football.

Who doesn't love that?

It's not Thanksgiving without a turkey, baked beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, potato salad, deviled eggs, ham and stuffing.

Yeah. A lot of people are all about the food though. More of a North American culture I think.

I agree that sharing and all that sentimental stuff is nice.

What do you mean the giant mess? Do you not know how to use disposable pans? Cleanup for me is like...10 minutes.

When it comes to turkey I don't like the way the white meat tastes when roasted. Frying it helps but it still has an off taste to it. The dark meat and the neck is where its at.

I don't like them either, but it means a lot to people in my family to have me there and it's not a terrible time

this. not really big on the whole tradition thing.
i'll tend to go to make everyone happy.

didn't want to go to the last one because of covid but i did it for my family (small gathering of maybe 5).
it's past the 2 week point so i'm safe if it did happen.

My family cook great food and I'm set for about 3 days for the rest of the week so...

We also change it up and try to get people to cook something new. I'm glad for this cause I don't like the typical fish and turkey.

You obviously don't come from a family of damn good cooks.
