My current computer has a GeForce GTX 960 and Phenom II X4 955 processor and I'm thinking of upgrading. I was able to get away with running a lot of games on low for a while but it's getting too outdated at this point.

the price per spec is decent. I'd probably put in some more ram tho.

Price seems fair.

I'd add another 8GB RAM though.

What are you trying to do with it?

I was thinking of just using it for gaming. I don't need the highest specs but I figure it'd be better than what I have. Would I be able to take the ram from the computer I currently have and add it?

No, your RAM is too old.

The rysen 3 is equivalent to an i3. You aint getting much as far as new games go.

Just for the hell of it, I built a system in PCPartpicker as close to the Skytech computer as I could make it. It came out to about $790.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dVWGp8

Ryzen 3 3100 = $150
A320 Motherboard = $64
8GB RAM = $28
500GB SSD = $65
Fractal Design case = $98
550 Watt PSU = $85
Window 10 = $35
WiFi = $25
RGB Fans = $60
Keyboard/Mouse = $17
----------------------------------------------
Total = $790

But there's a lot to be said about that list. Mainly, that these aren't parts most people would choose to buy. I could probably trim more cash off the list but it would be with parts that absolutely nobody wanted. As far as the Skytech PC, I'd say they get the fans, keyboard, case, and windows at a deep discount price. I'd say the wifi card and PSU are probably generic Chinese made products and that's where they're saving money too.

If you're only looking at dollar amounts then I don't know that you'll do much better. But you shouldn't be looking at just dollar amounts because there's a lot to consider here. (1) Expect Skytech customer service to suck ass and be non-existent. This is a small group of people putting together PCs. If one guys screws up (and yes, this happens a lot) then you better be able to fix the mistake yourself because you may not be able to get them to even pick up the phone. (2) This PC may not be capable of running the games you want. (3) You're not guaranteed a specific part. They may promise you a 1650 GPU, but they can give you ANY 1650 GPU they come across, no matter who makes it. Not all parts are created equal.

And that's just a few things to consider. Money wise, you probably won't come out cheaper up front. But if this thing doesn't last, or flat out doesn't work, then you may actually end up spending more to replace it with something else. I would seriously consider what games you're trying to play, look at the requirements needed to run those games, and then consider the price of the quality components needed to meet those requirements.

To be honest I'm not sure. Probably around $800 max. I'm thinking now maybe I'll just try and upgrade the parts that I already have

Save up a bit longer and you can get some really solid prebuilts for $1000-1200.

Mine was $1200 and runs almost everything at 100+ fps with max settings at 1080p. Many games I get up to 144fps (monitor refresh rate is 144hz).

Only game I've played that didn't achieve at least 100fps at max settings was GTAV, but it's still around 70-80. I could probably get it over 100 if I lowered some of the settings that don't change much visually but tank the performance for some reason.

I'm waiting for RDR2 to go on sale so I can try that one out at max settings next.

Your reading skills are excellent.

This is sarcasm. I point this out because your reading skills are, in fact, not excellent. So I feel like I must directly tell you this is sarcasm otherwise you will misread something yet again.
