I guess. But not everyone in it has ill intentions. And Ill always defend those people. Maybe I have a bias from personally knowing good intentioned religious people. The cousin I respect the most has had religion in his life since a kid. So him being in the crossfire doesn't sit well with me and I will always feel the need to acknowledge those like him. Unfortunately, people always assume I'm defending the scummy or hypocritical people. But maybe Im also assuming they're aiming at people like my cousin when they're not. I try to fill in that context but some hardcore people are still driven by emotion from what they experienced. I have emotion too, as I admitted, but Im trying to meet people halfway.

This video has a lot of good information, but it is a huge red flag that he seems to imply Catholicism is a cult.

Watching the video he mentioned about about Catholicism, this guy literally believes Catholicism is a cult. He also mentions in this video he is a Protestant (Methodist). There you have that Protestant hatred of Catholicism.

That could be, but you could say that about any religion really - that depending on the culture of the area or house of worship (or of an individual family) things could be more cultlike.

In his video about Catholicism, he goes through all of the things on that BITE model and rates the Catholic Church on them from 1 to 23 (really 1 to 7 but he does it with Fibonacci numbers because he wants 7 to be a lot worse than 6, etc.)

Among other things that are very questionable, there are several aspects of the model where he basically says "well, this isn't true of the Catholic church top-down, but it is true in some Catholic cultures so it counts" and raises the score for that aspect.

You have to wonder where his bias comes from.
