I already have a headache from being in the sun due to work, me getting hungry again even though I had lunch at work, my greedy fucking brothers once again eating up something before anyone else gets some, and now this.

So how was your day?

DoorDash is ass 50% of the time. Hopefully you get a full refund at least.
I'm so hungry I just went for the reorder with the $10 credit they offer. I would use something else but honestly DD is organized the best and I don't know why all the others are so damn sloppy.

I drive for GrubHub and UberEats. Like I would never order them myself. I sort of feel bad for the people I deliver to. It costs too much and the food is much less fresh than picking it up yourself.

This is standard now. No contact delivery.

I second picking it up for accuracy and freshness but sometimes you just want to not have to deal with the world lol.
true.

i do recommend checking grubhub perks b/c i've had a few %50/25 off deals from local shops that covers all the extra costs you incur

Well I can somewhat understand that, but it still costs a good deal more than picking it up yourself.

Granted, I'm around five minutes from a lot of dining establishments so delivery makes less sense for me.

The only time I ever used Door Dash is when Little Caesars had a brief promo at the start of the Covid-19 lockdown for free delivery. I ate a lot of Little Caesars that week, then the promo ended and I haven't used Door Dash since.

Because good lord...Little Caesars rocks, but part of it is because it's so cheap. Once you tack on ~$3 for delivery, $2 for some random unnamed "other fee," and a $2-$3 tip, you might as well have gotten carryout from Domino's instead.

Well yeah, but I can say GrubHub and UberEats don't require that you text the customer. GrubHub suggests you text them and UberEats makes you snap a pic of where you left it.

I've always gotten the impression that most gig economy delivery drivers just don't care at all though

Domino's 3 topping large for $7.99 carryout special is a way better deal than Little Caesars hot n ready for $5.

Never tried this, but I guess it'd likely work as long as you don't do it often.

Like the oversight on gig workers is generally pretty low. You can really get away with a lot.

If I had a car, I would never deal with any of those food apps.

I also prefer Uber Eats because you can at least track the driver on their way to your place, whereas DoorDash in my experiences has no GPS-tracking.

A lot of people join these programs and just eat the food and claim orders are un-deliverable. They do it until the programs kick them out.
