Welcome to the King of Fighters 2020 (NOT MERCS) Simulated Character Battle Tournament!

The game is simple. The two* listed characters are placed in an (imaginary) location with a variety of (imaginary) environments, kind of like a picture in a child's schoolbook that describes different types of geological features. Within a ten mile radius, there is an (imaginary) urban downtown, exurbs, plains, snow-clad mountains at the edge, dry plains, etc. Fighters start wherever is most appropriate for them, but feel increasingly compelled to seek out their opponent and fight. Strong-willed fighters can try to hold out in their chosen environment for longer... eventually, all will succumb and actively search for the other to battle.

To participate, just vote in bold for whichever character you believe will win. Giving reasoning is optional, but please be polite and read what others have said and carefully make your decision. I'll ping the nominators (they can opt out) to give arguments if they wish.

Singham is a police inspector who essentially fucks physics with the power of Bollywood and DYNAMIC ACTION. From what I can find he is a marksman, has super strength (again with bollywood power he can bounce people off concrete), can keep up with vehicles on foot, can ignore bullet wounds with bollywood moment, durable, camera shenanigans, ignore gravity, Lion Death Smack, and a bunch of other wacky shit. Just refer to vids for some of his shenanigans and go from there.

not as far as I remember, though it's been a while. There was some magic going on, but not any that I think would be that relevant

He's incredibly skilled/disciplined/focused, but not anything more that I recall.

He also has wilderness survival skills, which might come in handy here? I feel like Roland would naturally start in a wilderness area, while Bollywood dude naturally starts in the urban center, and they meet somewhere in the middle...which would not be urban any more.

So since no one's arguing Roland, I'll argue Roland. Off the top of my head...

He gets stabbed around 20 times while killing a town full of people, ignores it

Walks through a desert with no water, ignores it

Crawls through broken glass, ignores it (there's a trend forming here)

Can move through a forest without breaking a twig or alerting a single animal

Can see a binocular's distance without any binoculars

His gun speed is such that he drew, shot a guy and reloaded before he fell down

Headshot a man while he (Roland) was on fire

the main thing making me lean Singham is 'can ignore bullet wounds with bollywood moment' for obvious reasons, but I have no idea what that even means

is it something he has to actively do or does he just have it

Don't remember much of Wind Through the Keyhole, but Roland's close to being Last Days of Foxhound Ocelot sort of ridiculous. Like in the Dark Tower movie, the villain was catching his bullets. So he got around that by shooting a bullet, shooting that bullet before he could catch it and ricocheting it into him

Just a couple points for Roland: It's fuzzy, but the books suggest he may have a limited form of immortality (ie: no aging, can survive without food or drink for long periods). He also is able to pull and fire a gun faster than almost any human, and he was capable of using his own guns to block bullets fired at him, which suggests pretty crazy reaction time.

He also has some skill in hypnotism, but I think it's irrelevant in this case.

I'll give it to Singham. He seems to have his own heightened awareness to not be caught off guard (some hidden guy with a rocket launcher popped out at his blind spot and he just shoots him without looking) along with being able to just shrug off getting shot and proceed to move as if he wasn't shot at all. That and he might be faster given bollywood speed shenanigans. If it ever reaches a melee engagement which it probably will then Roland is just done.

getting shot in the heart/brain isn't something you can just shrug off unless you're a cartoon character, even if the pain doesn't bother him a shot like that is still going to mess him up unless he can just Superman-style deflect bullets.

and this isn't an action movie where Roland will dramatically pose with his gun so the audience sees him, if he has a shot he's just going to take it and he seems far quicker on the draw.

That is if he could get him off guard in a 1v1 which might be difficult assuming he doesn't get disarmed or get caught in close range. Singham also has his own wacky gun stuff and physics breaking. Unfortunately wasn't around and match is over but there didn't seem to be much interest overall anyway so eh not that big of a deal.
