Scooby Doo only gets more and more important to his worlds mythos with each iteration. Imagine going from a dog who can talk, to a beast who will end the world and kill everyone, to the descendant of Alex the Greats dog and the key to the underworld.

I dont think Scoob (the most recent movie and the first in the Hanna-Barbera Cinematic Universe!!!) is as bad as people seem to think. Its okay. Hardly the worst piece of Scooby media out there (thats the John Cena one, which I only kind of love unironically)

The most boring movie is the goblin one.

Scare School is my favorite and it has nothing to do with objective quality. No, my answer wont change.

I never read the shitty modern reboot comic but I WANT to so bad! I think about it all the time.

Zombie Island 2 is... uh... what exactly are your expectations for Scooby media? Because... uh... I thought it was middle of the road, but a search online says that its actually one of the lower rated ones? No.

The Batman one had a competent writer and director behind it and Batman BatB iirc always had solid writing and isnt talked about enough.

My honest opinion is that they all sucked and thats why the majority of them disappeared from relevancy for 20+ years. BUT Scoob has Captain Caveman and that suddenly reignited my love because one of the girls from that show is given a prominent role in Scoob (but she doesnt even talk to CC, really!)

But I really wanna say that Josie and the Pussycats In Space is peak television

Apropros of nothing, one of my friends in high school was actually named after Alex from Josie. Her father was one artists for the Archie comics and felt a special connection to that one character.

She chose to go by a completely different name lmfao

I genuinely don't lol. Outside of the original series, the initial run of spin-offs, and the first live-action movie, I really haven't seen too much Scooby-Doo and am pretty unfamiliar with the fandom and what's seen as great!

Zombie Island is generally seen as the best one with the most competent writing and genuinely high stakes with a good mystery.

Very very close to that is Mystery Begins, the best live action Scooby movie and my favorite live action character model for the pup. Idk what people think of this one because I hardly ever hear them talk about it :(

Supernatural x Scooby was very funny and, again, NOBODY talks about it.

It was alright. The meta references were fun, but even later Scooby Doo episodes made meta references that poked fun at the episode. The ending was hilarious, though ("What are you going to do?" "Oh, we called the cops. Turns out you've been cheating on your taxes. It was good enough to take down Capone and it's good enough for you.")

Not Daphne makes the Reluctant Werewolf even worse than it would ordinarily be, but I was always a fan of werewolf shaggy.

I dont remember a single thing Scooby does in this movie.

So Ghoul School.

I always thought every single one of those girls was SO cool. Seeing that boys camp next door be so mean to them always upset me as a kid.

I liked Get a Clues art style, but I can see why nobody cares to remember it.

I had a collection of recordable VHS tapes as a kid, mostly for Ed, Edd, and Eddy, but also for select episodes of other shows I liked (the Bunny episode of PPG, the color clown one, a few Courage and Spongebob episodes.

For some reason, I had both the Batman special and the Don Knotts crossover back to back on a tape, cutting off Band Geeks before Squidward could even put his fliers everywhere.

But I remember enjoying them as a kid. Have no idea how they hold up, and I imagine the Don Knotts special did NOT hold up.

Its hard to fuck up Scooby x Batman unless you really try hard. Im sure thats still good.

Hah! We did too! My older brother was a VHS recording jockey whenever we got to spend the weekend at grandmas
He easily had over 5 dozens tapes full of movies recorded from TV with the ads removed by pausing the recordings during them. He got a lot of TMNT too

I had a few tapes full of Sonics and one with a mix of Sonic, Power Rangers, Xmen, Spiderman and other mid to late 90s toons

Good times

I just finished watching Mystery Incorporated. Overall I liked it. But one problem I had with it was that Scooby seemed too articulate. Like, he was speaking long complete sentences a lot more often than I remember him doing in other series. The trailers for Scoob also did this, which is what initially made me uninterested.

I guess my question is: does Scooby often speak in complete sentences and I'm just imagining things?

it depends on what Scoobys role is in [Media]. He generally just shares the Wild Card role with Shaggy, but spinoffs that want to inflate his importance (either in relation to Scrappy, or hes actually a god, or hes actually the descendant of [important dog], or he has a fucking inheritance) he naturally gets even more lines, which makes the problem feel worse.

Its like when I used to write Kingdom Hearts fanfics but I made Donald Duck important. Hes naturally gonna talk more, but its gone be weeeeiiirreddd imagining that voice going into long winded prose.

In a lot of things he has full sentences, but they usually don't string that many sentences together. I think the original was the only series where he really didn't talk. As for Mystery Inc, it didn't really stand out in that regard for me.
