My guess is theyre banking on smart delivery and Game Pass with the old back catalog to help new adapters.

they're going to have to double down on their console's power specs over PS5 because not launching with your big exclusive is going to be a big blow at launch that could stain public perception in the long run.

Depending on when PS5 launches, Series X could run with Cyberpunk I guess. Or is the X/5 version of that delayed until next year?

The Medium, Tetris Effect: Connected, and Scorn are the (console) exclusive launch titles. Its probably still a better launch lineup than the PS5 but not a killer app among them. They are also going to launch with 40 optimised Xbox One games and a bunch of cross-gen games. All the exclusives will be on game pass, and thats how theyre selling it.

What was the last really major non-Nintendo launch game? ...Halo 1? Big launch games arent really a thing for Xbox and Playstation. This game was supposed to change that but I guess not any more...

Exclusive first party games still sell millions even on Xbox and PlayStation. Ryse, Killzone and Knack might not be games people remember fondly or think about six months after launch, but when you're making your decision on where to spend your money they play a part.

Sony is launching with the follow-up to one of the biggest games this gen. Microsoft has a service and a likely more powerful system. It's gonna be interesting to see the difference in these two strategies.

Outside of Halo 1, Microsoft and Sony have never really launched "a top 5 game" for the console like Nintendo tries to do. That doesn't mean they release crap games.

No they aren't, but they probably want people to think that. It's a stand-alone expansion, and there's a reason they have been trying to obscure that fact. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of upset people on launch day!

If it's like Lost Legacy I think I'm happy with Miles Morales tbh.

One of the weaknesses of Spidey is some of the side-missions just feel so repetitive because you end up doing the same things, so less of that could be a good thing.

Anyway I kinda realized, is there a CoD game coming out this year? That might help the shooter fix for Xbox gamers before Infinite comes out.

I suppose it depends, but imo, follow-up: sequel, main game. Miles Morales isnt that. People dont call Infamous First Light the follow up to Second Son for instance. When I read that I imagine something similar in scope.

That must have been a while ago then. Gamepass is currently at 10Mil as of April, PS Now is at 2.2Mil as of May.
