I've gotten so much disappointment from pretty much every direct for the past like 6 months that I have no predictions or hopes. I'm going in with zero expectations and I'm sure I will still be disappointed.

Guess I wasn't paying attention, I thought it was a totally new game. The pixelated style did NOT play well with the video compression in the stream lmao, it looked god awful in that regard. But I'm sure when it isn't artifacted to shit and back it looks lovely and hella charming

Oo as a heads up, Spiritfarer is also going to be on Game Pass (PC & console both) today. I played the demo earlier in the year, game seems like it's going to be really good.

Well they're certainly free of the trappings of AAA development. Nobody makes an indie game thinking "I'm going to make the next 3rd person open world adventure game with RPG elements, a skill tree, ubisoft towers, bandit camps, and a bunch of pointless collectibles!"

Normally, I'd agree but the fact that they're using the medium of video games to deliver a narrative that wouldn't be the same in other mediums tells me that they're at least inspired.

Some of my favorite games in recent years are indie games. Stuff like Hollow Knight, the Ori series, Night in the Woods, Monument Valley, Dusk, Bug Fables... I think the big difference is that they're most often passion projects, rather than by-the-numbers games meant to bring in cash.
