i'm honestly trying to remember any of the plot of the show...

i remember more of the re:build movies than the show... at least visually speaking. Zeruel was dope, as was that giant eyeball one.

Depends on what you mean by "plot". There a whole bunch of lore with black moon, white moon, lance, lilith, adam, space travel, ancient aliens, a religious cult society/shadow corporation, human experiments, and the like. But all that stuff is painted in the background and unless you start reading supplementary material you probably wouldn't be aware of half of it.

The show is really about a handful of fucked up people and how their lives develop in the midst of the conflict created by the lore.

look man it's been like 10 years since i saw the show, and i think i watched 2.22 in theaters so whenever that was.

so i don't remember any of the "lore" really and barely anything of the characters. all i know is "shinji get in the goddamn robot"

Its on netflix along with the movies. its a redub, but all the elements are still there. Getting the older dub physical is going to be quite the costly affair if you want it though.

I'm saying you're not expected to know/care much about the lore.

I only bring up the characters to point out that their development is the focal-point of the show, and that the traditional "plot" isn't that important.

i don't really do character-focus shows.

i like having a plot to follow. not to say i don't like character focus and development, i just don't like it when that's the whole thing.

probably why i don't enjoy Cowboy Bebop as much as I could.

EDIT: Then again, the music in Cowboy Bebop is why I like it as much as I do
