Welcome to the King of Fighters 2020 (NOT MERCS) Simulated Character Battle Tournament!

The game is simple. The two* listed characters are placed in an (imaginary) location with a variety of (imaginary) environments, kind of like a picture in a child's schoolbook that describes different types of geological features. Within a ten mile radius, there is an (imaginary) urban downtown, exurbs, plains, snow-clad mountains at the edge, dry plains, etc. Fighters start wherever is most appropriate for them, but feel increasingly compelled to seek out their opponent and fight. Strong-willed fighters can try to hold out in their chosen environment for longer... eventually, all will succumb and actively search for the other to battle.

To participate, just vote in bold for whichever character you believe will win. Giving reasoning is optional, but please be polite and read what others have said and carefully make your decision. I'll ping the nominators (they can opt out) to give arguments if they wish.

I feel like Sam would be able to bait the T-Rex away from his actual location while shooting it until it dies.

Back in the first round, I actually had to think a bit about Sheldon vs. T-Rex. I ended up voting T-Rex because while Sheldon is obviously more intelligent, he also has no fighting skills at all so it wouldn't matter.

Unfortunately for the T-Rex, Sam Fisher also won't have trouble outsmarting an animal and even has enough combat experience to win without much trouble.

Any situation where Sam is able to use misdirection or traps against the T-Rex seems like an easy enough win, and I don't really see it being able to get the drop on him.

I think including a blurb for some of the more out there characters like Homestuck dude might be worth it, but most of them probably don't need it at this point

Is this Jurassic Park T-Rex or just generic T-Rex? Assuming Sam has an array of strong enough weapons and stuff he probably takes it but Jurassic Park Rex might be able to do something

This seems open and shut, the only worry would be dangerous enough weapons to kill the T-Rex, and checking items, it seems that's accounted for in grenades and c4.

Eh fair enough if Sam has suitable array of firearms. Just figured if it was JP Rex then they would put up more of a fight being tankier and such from what I recall...then again Rex was still outmaneuvered by people way below Sam's level so yeah

after searching in google

it seems like a normal pistol wouldn't be able to do it, and i don't think sam has enough time to dig a giant pit- the t rex can sniff him out, too

but i guess sam does also carry c4 and grenades sometimes, so i guess if those can kill elephants and hippos they can probably kill a t rex

the dinos in jurassic world also just kinda shrug off weapons for the most part

i looked up what was available in the games. and the advantage of technology is strong. "Hmm, lets check what's out there... oh crap, it's a t-rex. Let's get some real weaponry."
