Because you can't screw up too much doing what you listed, or you die in a few hits.

But yeah, it's not impossibly hard like you're mentioning.

How is it compared to Ninja Gaiden 2004? I didn't have too much difficulty with it on normal mode, beat hard mode but only made a few chapters in with very hard mode. Fuck master ninja.

The problem with your comparisons is that there is barely any mechanical skill involved in Dark Souls' dodging. You just press a button and gain full invulnerability for a short time.

If getting a ball in a hoop was literally just pressing X while facing the basket, it would be easy to do it every time.

I think it would be less hard if you could just fight bosses and not deal with the other shit. I like trying to fight the bosses but I actually hate the rest of the game. I wish there was a Boss Rush mode where you go into a room full of portals that lead to each boss and you can fight them over and over even if you win. You can always rechallenge them. That would be cool

It had its moment (fuck Manus) but wasn't crazy unfair or anything. It's usually just a process of trial-and-error of learning the area/boss patterns.

I think the early game is really tough but once you find a decent weapon and level up whatever attributes you need to wield it well it's a much more manageable game. I mean, it's not easy and there is some bullshit sprinkled throughout but it's mostly a game of patience.

Because difficulty isn't defined by what you personally find challenging or not. It's a consensus. There's always gonna be people who naturally are more adaptable to certain things. Just like you bring better at Dark Souls wouldn't mean you're better than that person at everything else. You'd eventually find something you struggled with that was easier for them.
