Yeah sucks, Id love to go back and live city style. Its my favorite. But Im paying 1,800 a month for a brand new build, smart house, 2,000sq fr, 3 bedroom, 3 bath, huge backyard with a dog run

I love urban living. The view of the city can be a beautiful thing at night when you are getting home form work. Paying far too much for what the property is worth is definitely a rookie mistake though.

Banks are a joke. I had to cancel my line of credit that I never used to buyout my ex wife and I told the bank what for you're gonna email me a line of credit right after I get the mortgage and sure enough they did.

Just gotta find a bank that'll do 100% financing, buy a cheaper home in good condition in a decent area and live in it for about five years so you can have some nice equity, sell it, then use that money to buy the house you really want.

That chick in that video and her bf must be making like $70K each. She said for the rental application you have to prove you're making 40 times more than what they charge for rent. $3500x40 = $140K...I can't believe she's happy about that. Blowing that much money away. So sad.

It sucks for people working in the downtown area. Most probably don't require a car so they save there, but still a lot of money being blown on renting. In 5 years that's $210K. If her and him want a baby they'll have to figure something out. And that only adds to financial stress for couples thus leading to breakup and child support. Yeah...fuck that...

Could be worse. They could be paying around half of that to rent out bunk beds in a overseas barracks style complex sharing one or two rest rooms amongst dozens of others.

Fortunately now more and more people who can are moving out of the citys and their insane rent pricing.

Problem with that is once more people go somewhere else prices there go up too. I moved 7 years ago and houses here are starting to go up fast along with rent too. Locals who don't make much are not happy.

Similar to what happened around San Francisco. People get greedy of course so they want their share too. I don't blame them.

that is close to when the rent prices skyrocketed :(. used to be reasonable rents around here.
unless in some form federal housing it's 1k rent all around or more for a 1 bedroom.

have to live with roommates or have a high paying job now to afford living.

Yeah a few trade workers do the roommate thing. It's the only way to survive. It gives the chance to save up also to eventually buy.
