That's partly because you're not into hunting. A dude who has a serious investment in hunting as a sport is going to look at a picture like this and think "Fuck yes, I can't wait to go hunting with her. She knows what she's doing."

You really can't speak for people who have different hobbies and passions than you. It's fine if you don't like it, but don't say things like "even if I were into hunting I wouldn't like it," because you don't know that.

Looks like CETA is out in force. Always weird to me when people make stands like this with the amount of legitimate sociopaths on CE. It's like they don't actually care and just want to argue.

She can impress me by showing where the bullet hit. If she had to hunt that deer down for miles after wounding it, I think she would do better in the shooting range.

Honestly, it would be better if hunting for food was more widespread. Not nearly as harmful or costly as what we do with farmed beef.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. When my mother was younger, in the 60's, everyone had their own chicken coop. That's when grocery stores started selling eggs and initially there was indifference, but sure enough it caught on and there went the rest of the culture of homegrown food with it. I'm completely ignorant on hunting, but I'm prepared to throw down cash that we'd be a far healthier society if our communities made an effort to ensure food was grown and hunted locally before importing from anywhere else.

The thing is hunting takes real effort and even after you kill something to need to know how to do the field dressing.

Absolutely. And given our meat consumption, at least in my community, we definitely don't have the land or population to support us. But what I want is for us to prefer and prioritize those who go the route of food production over outside companies. This way we have some kind of reference to compare if the "more efficient" outside source is cheapening out on the flavor or nutrition of the animals to incentivize honest, good products and penalize those who take shortcuts in the name of quantity over quality.

Honestly I think we could do with more public commercial hunting. Like, you pay a fee to go somewhere to a cabin with other hunters and coordinate stalking a large area together, and then split the kills right then and there.

They already do this for fishing where you pay people to take you out to deep sea and fish for bottom feeders. Saves you from having to maintain a boat yourself. I've caught $150 worth of fish on $20 before.

I've also gone to orchards before where the price is like "$10 and you can take whatever you can carry" and walk out with like 40 apples.

I've not done it with hunting but I see no reason you can't do it.

She might be fishing for other women. Some of them like this.

Guys aren't really going to jump on that unless she shows she can skin, chop up, and cook it. Shooting the animal is not really a selling point unless she looks like a 20-something pin up girl from a gun magazine.

And even then, it's mostly old retired dudes with property who would want any of that today (not many of them that are still lookers). Most young attractive mountain men in their prime are shopping elsewhere nowadays. You can thank phone apps for that.
