Deer hunting is not like point and click, like a game.

I do not hunt deer. But I grew up around it. Seriois hunters spend a lot of time practicing. They scope out trials, set up tree stands, or sit in the brush for hours. Most hunts end up without a shot. In rifle season, when you do get a shot, it is at long ranges. There is no guarantee you will land the shot.

If you are muzzle load hunting or bow hunting, things get even harder.

Besides, people eat these things. Lots of families suppliment their pantries this way. Keeps people out of foodbanks. Lots of hunters donate thier kills to the needy too.

Plus, the limit on deer per season and type is small. There are deer everywhere I grew up. Hunting helps prevent them all from starving in mass.

People are commenting on this person's need to flaunt their execution of this creature. I understand that deer and elk or w/e can pose a problem to an ecosystem if overpopulation happens, but maybe men shouldn't have pushed out and/or hunted their predators? Either way, I recognize the value of eating and donating your kills, but you if you smile and take a pic next to something like this, you're tacky at best

Like, I respect your views. You do not have to like it. I live around it, and it is not my thing either. But I know that within a certain cultural context, it is perfectly fine. Instead of having a beef with it, I just let people be happy with what makes them happy.

Most hunters where I am do it for food. To each their own. It doesn't bother me. A lot of women out in the country are into hunting and four wheeling. Not really my thing.

Anyway, I see this as just her way of showing that hunting is an important hobby for her. If you're going "I wish I could find a woman that's into <favorite hobby>." and her main picture is of her actually doing it? I personally don't mind hunting at all as a sport, especially folks who properly utilize the animal for food and what not. However I'm not seeing a chick with a dead deer on her profile and thinking "damn that's hot", know what I mean? It's just a weird pic to have on a dating site IMO
