Lets say a place is closed, but no indication it is closed. How long would you wait till you realize, or just say fuck it im going somewhere else.

If I'm the only person, this has happened, and I wait maybe 20 seconds once it's clear there's no response on the speaker.

if there was an actual lineup, I might wait 10-20 minutes, since I would assume/hope the person at the front doesn't wait that long at an unresponsive speaker.

I always walk in, so kind of a moot point. I like to wash my hands before eating and this gives me a chance to make sure they got my order right. That and I hate those speakers.

lolwut? You can walk in atm, CT has partial seating (and even when you couldn't sit in the dining area, you could still walk into a lot of places). Although if you're just talking about fast food in the age of COVID, it's not like I've been going for it much because it's out of the way at this point. Most of the places I get takeout from right now don't even have a drivethru.

One time Dirty Rons told me I couldnt use a coupon in the drive-thru, so I just exited the drive-thru in my Silverado because I wasnt going to wait for ten cars in front of me to all get their food if I couldnt get mine.

So I guess I wouldnt under certain circumstances.

All the other fast food restaurants in town do. Youre probably not wrong. Theres no difference between the drive-thru and going inside in the way of entering a coupon code.

They all do. There is no difference. Carl's Jr is really cool about it and lets you use multiple.

We dont have one of those anymore. I dont think I ever got to go to it either. I was in another province while it was at that location. Tbh the McDonalds here is the absolute worst-run. It only gets business because there isnt another one in the valley for at least 45 min in either direction and also relies heavily on tourists that dont know better.

I never sit in drive throughs.

I don't eat at restaurants with drive throughs except for in-n-out but even then, I park, go inside and order.

I give it about 20 seconds before driving away if there wasn't any response at the speaker.

This reminds me of the time I was going through the drive-thru with my friend. And when we started, there was a bucket in the middle of the drive-thru. It was to signify that it was closed. We were sure at first, and contemplated moving it out of the way...

All of them are close to me now because its a small city, but in Calgary there were only four BKs I think and they were all at least twenty minutes away by car on the highways.
