Just do the James Bond thing and hire someone who would've been qualified to play the role had the other guy not already been playing it. Actor replacements are a part of acting. It'd be cool if they could retire his character out of respect, but they can't realistically do that. Going forward I don't know how they should procede, it definitely needs some time. Three weeks later, the character "regained his voice" and nobody minded that it was different. A similar approach might work if Black Panther receives cameos in Shang-Chi and Spider-Man 3 without ever removing his mask.
