Somehow things got really screwed up. I Right-Clicked and declared war on that guy [in Ireland], but ended up in a war with someone in England. No, they were not allies. No idea what happened.

Meh, those were by far the best two starts in CK2 anyway.
Though the 769 one did have the one random Merovingian floating around, which was silly(IIRC, he was probably dead by then), but could lead to some random Duke pressing his claim on Francia.
Ah well, crazy nonsense happening is what got me hooked on Crusader Kings back in the day. I won't be getting CK3 just yet, but I will eventually. Ya'll have fun.

Iron Century was a fucking awesome start date, and it's a shame it isn't in.

So I take my army there. No mistake this time, I'm at war with this person

And yet STILL THEY STAND THERE AND DO NOTHING -

And why can you only see your army numbers on the board in 1 map type? And it's not even the fucking default one!

Yeah I don't get why the army numbers don't show up in any map view other than realms. And I don't know how to tell if my army will actually siege anything in a spot unless they start doing it.

Also gotta say I preferred CK2's system of having to have your own fleet to cross water, I hope there's a naval expansion that fixes that shit.

I'm going to buy it this weekend, get overwhelmed by the learning curve, then shelve it - just like CK2. I think I'm too dumb for this series. I'm also too dumb to stay away.

People say its easier, but Im having some issues with very minor things. I think its mostly because there are new ways to do things.

Was there anyone on that county before your troops arrived? If so you might need to leave and re-enter. Otherwise the only thing I can think of is not enough troops or a bug, given your troop number that one seems unlikely.

Ive only spent about 3 hours reading tooltips in the tutorial but I can already tell that this is gonna be better than ck2.

I greatly miss the inventory system that was added with iirc Monks and Mystics (mostly for AGoT mod purposes and maybe there'll be a DLC and/or patch that adds that by the time the mod is out), and I'm not big on anyone being able to transport their entire military across seas at will for a paltry sum of gold, but aside from that I think I like it more than 2 so far.

I don't think you are actually at war with the Isles, because their borders on the map would be red if you were.

You definitely are at war with Norway, though. Did you, uh, declare war on them by accident?

Also, that's a Breton army, but you're in Ireland, right?

My liege lord is at war with them. I just got bored and sent my troops to help him out. I don't know, I'm sure I'll figure it out. I just don't know why it's so complicated for me, lol

Oh, okay. You don't get directly involved in your liege's war unless they're defending your territory. I'm not sure if it's the same in CK3 because I haven't tried yet, but in CK2 you could ask your liege to join his war and become more directly involved.

But I had the war score in the bottom-right. They were losing a bit so I sent my troops to help them out, but they wouldn't fight.

Only thing I'm really missing so far is seeing your character's opinion of others. Kinda hurts the rp/immersion a bit.

One of my councilors approached me about "The Horned One," and I had the option to either hear what he had to say or send him away, but I found out "his witch secret." idk what would have happened if I listened to him. Also found a mysterious tome to read (a la the Necronomicon event) but nothing ever came of it.

There's "witchcraft" in the game, and you can form a coven of some sort, but I'm not sure what it does. I know they mentioned in dev diaries that they wanted to remove all the overtly supernatural stuff, like regrowing limbs and that sort of thing.

I've had one crash in the 12 hours I've played so far.

And one blue screen but I think I had undervolted my CPU too much.
