Same opinion I have of Fall Guys, and Getting Over It, and most of the other fotm games...they're fun for a couple hours, but too simple to have any long-term staying power.

I may try it sometime, it's similar to the game werewolves I think it was called, which you play in a group, it was called cultists as well (in muds at least) and a few other games, basically 1 murderer and a bunch of towns people, and you have to figure out who the murderer is (in cultist there are multiple roles, like sherif, healer etc. There can be multiple cultists as well.

You win if you kill all the cultists while townspeople are still alive. You can play the game in person (with cards dictating the roles) in online games (muds...generally text based) and I think they have actual game versions as well.

This is just the newest version, but it's kinda cool since you actually get to move around and slaughter people hehe.

That being said, I think you can communicate with each other, even if it's only after a death. If your not the murderer, just follow 1 other player around even though you can't complete tasks (They can), and then if someone dies both of you know for sure that the other isn't the murderer. State that when someone dies, then follow another person around, if it's the murderer and he kills you or another player, you know for sure who is the murderer and you can report that (So everyone knows who it is, and you jettison him), if someone dies and the person your following doesn't kill em, you now know 3 people who can't be the murderer and there are only 2 choices left, so jettison 1 of the two (sorry if he's innocent) and let the murderer kill one of the three of you, and vote him off and you always win.

Meanwhile if they don't use that method, simply kill solitary people, then quickly use the ducts to move to another area and do a fake task next to another player (then say you KNOW that player didn't kill anyone cause you were right next to him when the corpse was found), they will probably vouch for you as well, which makes you both safe in everyone elses eyes, then just pick off the rest when they are alone and they will vote off people that are not you and the other "safe" player until there are just 2 guys besides you and bam, kill whoever you like and you win.

So I don't really need to play it basically.

Thats what I heard...

For Among Us, fake task wont always work, though. Theres a bar at the top that tracks task. If you take it, its very easy to tell. Unless they are a bunch of people left since you can pretend to finish a task when they finish. There are also task which you can see. Like scanning, trash, and weapons.

The other problem is the only ways for the crew to win is to either get rid of all the impostors, or finish all tasks. But sometimes, the ghost wont finish their tasks...

Also, following doesnt always work if everyone else still has tasks. Plus, with multiple impostors, you can easily trick others. I did it all the time. And being able to turn of the lights helps immensely. Also, some people are good about being able to kill when around others. The impostor was around one guy the whole match. And still killed a bunch of people. And the other guy never saw somehow. Probably doing tasks and stuff.

Not to mention, theres the sabotage button. Where you can sabotage different things to split people up. And if you die as the impostor, you can still sabotage to help out your partner. Its great. And if you sabotage something like O2, it can cause people to have to split up. If youre far away. You have 30 seconds to turn on both of the O2 things. And one is in admin, the other in the O2 room. If youre close to one, you can get both. If not, splitting up maybe the only way. Because if you dont get both, the imp wins... Which is sometimes a way to tell who is an imp...

Plus, theres the gang/mob mentality. And you can definitely trick people using it. My friend and I were the impostors once. And when he died, he said yellow was the other impostor. So, in the next round, purple waited to call a meeting. And said to vote yellow. We did, and yellow was innocent. So the black waited, and said to vote purple. We did, and purple was innocent. So then brown said to vote black. It was great.

But it also works with other lies. If you say you saw someone vent, people will just automatically believe you. Even when youre lying... they just vote that person. And if they werent the impostor, vote you next...

In the end, while its a simple game, it can still be, a challenge in some cases...

I'd agree with all this, but I'd also add:

"It's way more fun if you're playing with a group of friends than it is if you're just playing with strangers."

It's one of those games that look really fun when you're watching a bunch of people in the same room (or at least the same audio channel) all playing together in a YouTube video, but which is less fun when you're the one playing and it's just you against everyone else, and they're all just random Internet schlubs.

It also feels like it's going to be one of those games where the longer its out, the more tryhards are going to get really, really good at it, so it's going to become almost impossible for more casual players to win against the hardcores. Which will take a lot of the fun out of the game for most people.

This is very true. At work, we had a bunch of us just playing the game together for a whiles. Its definitely better than with random people...
