Two things scare me in life and that's heights and death. Still I went on a plane for the first time last year and I was perfectly fine. I didn't look out of the window down too much but still gave it a look. Planes are nothing to be afraid of. Now when I'm stood at the top of a cliff looking over countryside all below me with no safety gear that's when my fear of heights kicks in.

The nice thing about cruises is unlike normal vacations a lot of the planning is taken care of, so you don't have to plan every detail yourself or just be wandering aimlessly at your destination because you didn't plan well enough.

While convenient, I find the price of the soda pass usually outweighs the amount of soda I can actually drink even if I paid for each drink separately.

Maybe. But there's only so much lemonade and milk I can drink. I would order room service to get cheesecake and milk. It was good. And the lemonade was ok. But I was dying for soda after a while. I did get a couple bottles and and stuff. Oh, I also had a bunch of alcohol, as well... I do drink a lot of soda, though. I may have been able to make it worth my while... Idk. It depends on the price...

There is no reason at all to get the soda pass tbh.

First you get all you can drink tea/coffee/lemonade/fruit punch etc without the soda pass.

Second soda is still free with meals, including the buffet which runs all day (so you can bring your own container and fill up on soda while there).

Third many of them have a variety of flavors of lemonade as well. I went on a Princess cruise and they had this one kind of strawberry lemonade that was deeeelicious, way better than any soda, pretty much all I drank except water the whole trip (only 4 days).

So the soda Pass is a serious rip off, since you can basically get all the soda you want anyway without it.

The only two from those I'd drink are the last 2. And trust me, they both get boring after a while. I really like lemonade, and I still go tired on it after a few days (Which is why I started getting the milk). I don't remember the fruit punch, though... It's possible I missed it, though...

I don't remember that. I did get alcohol often with dinner. But I don't remember them offering free soda when I was there...

I couldn't. I guess my cruise was different. I could spend a shit ton at the shop on the boat. Or possible wait for wherever we landed for that day... But the soda pass would have really helped me out...

I went on RoyalCarribian, Princess of the sea or something like that.

THey had 3 kinds of lemonade, normal, the strawberry one I loved, and another one (I didn't drink much of cause I loved the strawberry one).

They may offer more on that cruise line, Carnival from what I heard is the bear bones cruise (as cheap as possible, but not as good food/drinks), so you probably didn't have as many options.

Royal Carribian has sit down dinners (Still all you can eat, but you can order crab/steaks etc as much as you want, along with the 3 main dishes per night that change). They also had a buffet opened (I don't think all night but really late). I know they had it open till like midnight and a big screen on the deck by the pools (which was in front of the buffet) playing movies etc.

If you REALLY love soda on that cruise, I guess you could get the pass, but yeah, the buffet had soda machines you could get soda out of with your meal, and the sit down dinner you could order whatever you want (I think they charged for alcohol though, my uncle I think got the alcohol pass, so they didn't even charge him for that).

I would only go on a cruise known for good food, cause food is really important to me. I have not heard great things about the food on Carnival cruises, so even though they were seriously cheaper, I didn't consider them.

Yeah. I don't remember the soda machine. I did know alcohol cost extra for me. But I still got pina colodas for dinner. And the cute waiter from dinner also worked in the club. And got me drink there, as well...

Yeah it might not have been Carnival then, I heard those are good to go on with kids, so there are often alot of children on them.

I looked up this video on their buffet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWotn9ZL9bM

And yeah that looks far inferior to what was on royalcarribians princess of the sea buffet. I did alot of research before going on one, and the ship I went on was one of the better rated for food (food is life).

I'm sure there is a range as well between different carnival ships, but the princess for instance would make fresh waffles/eggs (scrabmled/sunny/omletts with different things in it (I don't eat eggs though), they had fresh and good sausage etc (Enough stuff even for me to eat breakfast...and I normally don't).

Lunch was usually just the buffet in the middle of the day, but the buffet usually had whatever 3 choices were going to be available at dinner (Varied per day) along with steak/fried chicken/ham/pizza etc. I didn't really like the buffet that much though tbh (I'm really picky on my food), but at least you could get specific foods like waffles/steaks etc made just for you. Chicken was good (usually had a few options) etc.

Still I generally search (or did before the virus) for the best buffets in an area, usually they have all you can eat prime rib + crab legs (king usually), and high quality foods (ranging from 40-60$ a pop), so it would be REALLY hard for a cruise buffet to impress me.

My ship prob had one of the best buffets on a cruise and I still was not impressed, but the sit down dinners were good, and I don't usually eat much outside of a main meal each day so it was fine. I mainly went to the breakfast buffet with my uncle (or the breakfast sit down meal) because he likes......eating after waking up (the savage).

I would get fresh tea as well, and usually snack on potato's/meats etc a bit. Same with lunch (but refill my strawberry (with real strawberries) lemonade. Then I'd eat basically 2 meals worth of food at dinner hehe.
