Sometimes my friend gives me one when I'm at his house. They're just flavored water but it honestly feels like smoking a cigarette for the first time because it gives you a slight head buzz. I don't know why but it's really weird. It's subtle enough that unless someone points it out to you, you're not going to be able to tell. It's most intense from that canned aldis brand called le cruex or whatnot.

I can actually see this being useful to quit drinking beer or smoking cigarettes, just drink them flavored sparkling waters out of the can.

My favorite is Topo Chico like tho. The Aha drinks are also really damn good.

La croix is ok, but other brands are way better.

"Le cruex's" aren't my favorite cause they aren't as sparkling or flavorful as other brands but I do love sparkling water

I like the carbonated water that's basically sugarfree soda, but "sparkling" water like La Croix is nasty af

(what's worse, manufacturers often don't distinguish between the two)

I have never experienced this, but I drink those daily. I like Perrier a lot, also Polar brand. Not sure what about them would give you a head rush, they were bitter to me at first but now i'll drink them over soda and haven't had soda in years.

They are an acquired taste for sure, I didn't like them at first until I pretty much quit sugar altogether, and then found them refreshing.

Can anyone else confirm the "buzz" you get off of these? I know someone has said they don't feel it, but it's definitely there. It's like a lightheadedness, similar to smoking your first cigarette.

yeah the Clear American flavored water is pretty much the only thing I buy from Walmart en masse

These have artificial sweeteners in them, that's the difference. Shit like aspertame gives me muscle cramps. Stevia isn't bad but it's not great either.

Yeah I think most people will not notice it's effects unless you point it out. I had la creux a couple times before and I only remember it tasting awful, until my friend pointed it out like "you feel different? I've been drinking these instead of beer they give me a buzz" then I paid more attention after I drank it and I was like weird as heck. Glad I'm not the only one though.

Yes, this is the exact thing I'm talking about in the thread. La cruex is a popular brand like this and I'm not sure why but it gives me a cigarette like buzz.

That's why I think it gives a weird feeling because it has a flavor but it isn't sweet, whatever chemistry is involved in giving a coconut flavor(for example) without any of the actual sweetness ends up giving you a bit of a buzz for some reason.

It does for me, my friend, and another guy in this thread. It's not like drinking beer, but certainly comparable to smoking a cigarette in terms of that placebo like buzz/lightheadedness you get from it.

Yeah there's a lot of varieties here, Perrier, La Croix, S. Pellegrino, Deer Park, Polar, Aha, Bubly, and others. We consider them "seltzer waters" also. Some sparkling water here are zero calories but are infused with chemical sweeteners also.

I've never seen this Topo Chico. I mostly like Perrier. I've been drinking seltzer for over a decade. I love the stuff. Even plain seltzer is great. As long as it's nice and cold.

Never had any sort of buzz with them.
