If i'm eating noodles at an asian restaurant, i would preferably use...

If you're eating at an asian restaurant and you order up any kind of noodle dish, you'll likely be given chopsticks to eat with it..however there is a fork on your table as well as they offer both but it's generally advised to use the chopstcks since that's how they do it in asian countries where they use chopsticks to eat with..even with RICE!.

You'd be surprised at what most westerners would pick

Look I'm not usually a guy who thinks one culture is inherently better than another, but in this instance Asian countries have it wrong. Forks are objectively better in every regard, and I will use one without shame at any restaurant where it's an option.

Most Asians I know just use a fork for rice and noodles and joke about the fact that white people will try to use chopsticks for it.

I've used chopsticks for noodles before and it's just not terribly effective. With rice, it can be kinda difficult since you're kinda trying to use them to scoop up clumps.

I eat with a fork, my fingers/hands and obviously my mouth. I've no idea how to use chopsticks and have no desire to learn when a fork or my fingers do the same job if not better.

For rice it's more like using them like a shovel.

Chopsticks are too difficult. I have terrible hand/eye coordination. At Panda Express, its always a fork for me.

i can use chopsticks properly, and in a survival situation, they're the superior utensil for ease of manufacture. if you have a pocket knife, and any sort of woody plant at your disposal, you can make chopsticks. the fork is preferable, and for most meals, a spoon is adequate. frankly, for anything rice-sized the spoon is king, but take the most work to make from scratch if you're carving.

Well, I always keep a very sharp knife in my purse. I could carve a spoon pretty quickly.

I can use chopsticks but I'm pretty terrible at them so I'd rather use a fork which I'm somewhat competent in.

I usually use chopsticks when the restaurant provides them. I even ask for chopsticks when they provide only forks.
