I remember it like it was yesterday, i woke up and was heading to the bathroom to get ready for school when i heard him say "a plane just hit a tall building in new york" but i didn't pay any mind to it. Then a few minutes later i hear him scream that another plane hit the building and that's when i started to think that maybe this was something to notice

The most memorable part for me was when i was in school, every class had the tv on and my homeroom teacher was crying seeing the towers fall and her saying that she's afraid WWIII was going to happen because of this

working at a warehouse. they announced it over the intercoms and we moved to the lobby tv to watch.

in school and my science teacher brought us down to the library to watch what the fuck just happened. I was 14 at the time.

middle school literature class, think we were reading the great gatspy (horribly shit book) when the teacher who was fucking around on instant messenger rushed to turn on the TV. got to see the second tower get hit live and one of the towers colapse. had an early lunch period (like 10am...) and spent the whole time trying to get my friends to believe the story. got pulled out early because my mom was freaking out.

I was asleep on the west coast when the attacks happened . But I think I got up and saw the 2nd tower fall. After my mom woke me up. I had graduated high-school that year and was sleeping in. I remember her waking me up and saying something huge was happening on the news

Brushing my teeth before school, my mom called me into the room and they were showing the smoke from the first hit and speculating on what it was (I don't think they knew it was a plane yet) and then I watched the second tower get hit live.

I was on the freeway heading to school. All the cars just slowed wayyyy down. It was weird.

Exact same with me, I was in my 10th grade US History class when my friend mentioned something about planes hitting the World Trade Center. I wasnt exactly sure what that was, I knew of the two giant towers in NYC but didnt know they were called The World Trade Center. Our school wasnt showing anything to the students because I guess they didnt want anyone to freak out, but as the day went on more and more kids parents were calling their kids out. Wasnt until I got home and put on the TV around 2:30pm and I was like oh, those buildings! and saw what happened.

Sitting in my underwear, fighting a hangover and watching the news.

Judging by the responses, it was a week day so guess I was getting ready for school. Didnt have much of an effect on me. While it was horrible for you, for me it was just yet another bad thing that happened in another country.

Yeah I walked into class and saw my teacher looking at the tv and crying.

When it it was found out that it was a terror attack and that the thinking at the time was that they were going after large financial targets, they figured the Bank of America building here in Charlotte would be next, since it was the second largest financial building on the east coast. So they sent us all home early that day.

6th grade social studies class. we pretty much did nothing but watch the news for the rest of the school day. lots of kids were picked up by their parents.

I was in the 2nd grade, in a Montessori school. They literally didn't tell the younger kids, but when my mom picked me up she was going on and on about it and I had no clue until we came home to watch the news.

I was in class at school. Some kid just happened to get picked up early to go to the dentist that day. Apparently he had those wack parents that make them finish the school day even after his appointments and yeah, he came back in class and was saying how some planes blew up towers and stuff.

I was getting ready for school, I was in 6th grade.

I was in Calculus preparing for a test. Right as the teacher was about to start passing out the tests she got a phone call and turned on the TV.

Classes kinda forgot about tests and stuff that day.

Sleeping. My roommate woke me up after the second plane hit. And then I went to work in a complete daze.

That was almost 20 years ago so I was probably in elementary.

I was 10, it was early morning in Australia and they interrupted Cheez TV (this program before school where they showed Digimon, Pokemon, DBZ, Sailor Moon etc) and we were all upset about that.

Then I went to my parents room and they said America had been attacked and I said "again? doesn't that always happen?" as I kind of took it as Columbine. Didn't quite grasp the severity of it.

I took a sick day at school and was playing Starcraft, back then I was into the chat room lobbys they had and I would just chat with people a lot, and that day was weird because people were saying about the attack on america and I thought they were just joking until my dad came home and was yelling about it.

Just got to school and my friend told me a plane just hit one of the Twin Towers. I thought he meant one of those recreational two seaters and thought nothing of it. Then about an hour later when the teacher told us he was ditching the agenda for the day and we were gonna watch the news cause the 2nd plane hit and that was when we knew shit was going down. One of the most surreal days of my entire life.

I moved to Long Island after college and met a lot of people that were directly affected. I even met a dude that was there. He worked on the 8th floor and got out basically without any trouble after the first plane hit. My co-worker's husband's uncle was one of the pilots on one of the flights.

In 8th grade 1st period we had barely started and the 1st plane had already hit we weren't aware of it until my teacher was told about it so he turned on the tv. I remember my teacher was talking outside with the teacher in front he came in and then we saw the 2nd plane hit. I just remember him covering his face with both hands cursing out loud and holding back tears. He stepped out and kept talking with the other teachers. I ended getting picked up on 2nd period, my mom took me to go get my other siblings. I got home and played Advance Wars the rest of the day it had come out the day before.

At least that is what all flight map paths I've seen show me.

Im still salty that our school kept all the kids in the dark and apparently had a blanket order to keep all the TVs off while everyone elses schools were all watching. All the teachers had to keep teaching, but we could all clearly tell something was seriously wrong cuz the teachers were so rattled. So that entire school day was just a bunch of confused kids passing along rumors of the buildings while getting called out by their parents one by one.

Makes sense. There's always flights going over my parents' house. I'm pretty sure the Hudson River is a flight path. Gives them a clear north-south reference.
