The action itself is still good but holy shit, I do not remember Ryu controlling so awkwardly out of combat.

Still pretty satisfying to Izuna drop people.

Wonder if the franchise will ever come back.

I only ever played the very first version on the original Xbox. I've been meaning to replay one of the re-releases for like over a decade now but just never have. Closest I got was downloading Ninja Gaiden Black on Gamepass.

They're fun games! I never played 3 though, I always heard lukewarm things about it.

Thought I am surprised how well and polished Sigma runs on a PS3, especially for being an early title for the console.

I'm not sure I played it. I put in a lot of time into Ninja Gaiden for Xbox tho. Getting good at the combat and being able to just flawlessly pull off combos was so satisfying

I remember upgrading that wooden sword into the huge metal club and just wrecking things at low health since it got stronger the closer to death you were. It had some serious power and reach but it wasn't fast, and if you got hit you were likely dead

It was called the unlabored flawlessness. It looks like a giant oar, and it was amazing.

I do hope the franchise comes back, because honestly I found the core gameplay better than most of the other games in the genre like devil May cry or even Bayonetta.

NG3 killed the series. Razor's Edge was what it was supposed to be, but it's still a crap game

Yaiba is basically a harder dynasty warriors

NG2 is a flawed but still very fun game for the most part

NG2S is NG2 but worse flaws and not nearly as fun

Reminder PS3 got a FULL Remaster, new HD Textures, new everything

it was a big FU to the Creator that Xbox fanboy

I honestly think most of the flaws came from them trying to get away from a fixed camera angle which created all sorts of camera problems. Plus ghost fish lake. Fuck that place.

The one thing that NG2 did really right, though, was encouraging weapon variety usage. In the first game there was really very little reason to use more than one weapon once you had started to level it up, but in the second game I felt like I was pushed into using different weapons against different types of enemies and that variety was refreshing.

Very Hard in Ninja Gaiden Black is probably the hardest game I ever played

Ninja Gaiden 2 and Black still hold up today. Try controls flawlessly in those. And the executions never got old.

Mission Mode with 2 bosses, sometimes 3, at once on some stages was the game having fun saying **** you, do this, and try not to die. And it was great.

iirc, he's rumored to be making some kind of action game, maybe with Nintendo? It's been awhile since I heard that one though

I'd be surprised if that was the case. He blamed Nintendo for not promoting the game properly and Nintendo didn't want to publish that turd at all lol

Only played the first one.

I think I "discovered" a speed running trick in it because I was too dumb to figure out how to clear the room, so I just kept doing this wall run that didn't seem to be the one you had to do, but I ended up making up to where I had to go

But this is me looking back on it, I thought that was how it was done when I did it

Sigma 2 opted to reduce enemy count, but increase their HP. The AI was also affected. Also a couple levels were removed outright, and the girls' levels put in. Like the gameplay is substantially different because Ryu's moveset was not designed with beefy grunt enemies in mind.

Sigma 1 may have had some changes other than Rachel and new stuff, and it also removed some things from Black (ranged weapons and the OG Ninja Gaiden games come to mind). I think VH and MN were also easier than in Black. But the changes in NGS1 were less problematic than the changes to NGS2.

It was at the time because nothing like that had ever come along. We are all so used to that type of game now it isnt as difficult.

Its like playing Doom 2016 after playing cover shooters for a decade.

Nothing too serious. The walls were paper thin. My heel went through it.

Was trying to beat Alma and she just pushed my shit in for the 100th time. Flailed my legs in aggravation, and smacked the wall

Yea alma was the hardest bosses I've faced in a game. Took a year long break and was finally able to get past her.
