How far off were they from a conclusive ending, anyway? I stopped watching around the Blue Morpho stuff cause it felt like the seasons were practically shadow dropping after ages of silence and I ended up falling behind.

It was to the point where they likely could have given it a proper ending had they had advance notice of a season or two. The last two seasons really went to some big places.

This is a damn shame and I had thought the show and its creators had built up enough goodwill at AS to keep getting renewed even though it isn't a huge hit. I feel like this is the monkey's paw retribution for them saving Tuca & Bertie or some shit.

Something I didn't put together initially is that Cartoon Network/Adult Swim are owned by WB/AT&T. No doubt this is related to the shitshow that company is going through.

There was a lot of incredibly smart stuff in Venture Bros and a lot of long running evolving plot threads.

If you've only seen a couple episodes here and there, out of order, could def see it not standing out in the same way. I just recently marathoned it again start to...finish, I guess.

I was just thinking about doing an episode ranking. Now that it's over it's the perfect time.

Show had an amazing first 3 seasons, kind of did its best to alienate fans in Seasons 4 & 5, came back strong in 6 with the Blue Morpho and move to New York stuff, and kind of floundered in Season 7 (except for the first three episodes).

The worst mistake the show made was Captain Hatred. I can't think of a single person who liked that character, and they brought him in to replace Brock Samson, who was one of the main draws (I understand stuff was going on with Patrick Warburton being kind of a big name and all). I really don't know why they thought jokes about pedophilia were a good idea.
