By remake I'm talking about something that either had the visuals completely overhauled to be modern or completely remade. So a remaster with some settings turned up isn't what I mean.

• Gears of War Ultimate Edition

• Shadow of the Colossus
• Final Fantasy VII Remake
• The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
• Ratchet and Clank
• Metroid: Samus Returns
• Crash Team Racing Nitro Fuelled
• Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition
• Destroy All Humans
• Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom

Coming up we still got;

• Mafia Definitive Edition
• Oddworld Soulstorm
• Demon's Souls
• Some sort of Prince of Persia Remake
• Maybe the Mass Effect Trilogy (could just be a remaster)

Did I miss any? That's a lot! I'm guessing we'll still see a lot more. Plenty of stuff from the PS1 and PS2 generations that are untouched. THQ Nordic is sitting on stuff like Timesplitters

Been a trend for a while now. Even more if you consider it came from movies.

Can't wait for Demon Souls Remaster!

So long as these remakes show that there's still very much a market for these games, Crash Bandicoot being a prime example, I'm fine with them.

Kind of inclined to agree... while I'd definitely love new good games, if they can't do that I think I'd rather take remade old good games than new bad games

Interested to see what they do with the RE4 Remake. They didn't have to do that, they could have just ported it to the new consoles for the 100th time and people would still buy it like they always do but they cared enough to remake it.

Aside from the obvious (financial model stuff, DLC/microtransactions being central to everything), I feel a good part of it is putting so much time and effort (and download size) into making everything a cinematic experience, rather than adding in more gameplay content. Really hampers the replayability.

This. The developers need to go back and remake a lot of them.

Yeah I like remakes since they can sort of go for something more simple without it feeling like a big risk since it had brand recognition.

Mafia Definitive is an old school open world game that isn't crammed with filler to stretch out content.
