Update: News is breaking that Trevor Milton, Nikola Corp. founder and former executive chairman, was arrested by the DOJ and FBI at Sky Harbor Airport, in Phoenix, Arizona, this morning. This is so far unconfirmed.

I'm betting he tried selling a bunch of shares without reporting them, knowing his company was a fraud. This guy makes a convincing case on how he may have found a loophole:

This whole fiasco could be great for Nikola's future ironically. With a guy from GM at the helm, they might actually be worth something years from now. Something I would have never said about the company until now.

I really want to buy PRU today at market end. But I cant get a good feeling on tomorrow. I feel like the market will either correct from today, or continue to drop for another day or two before correcting.

Bought PRU at open. Currently down over 3%, typical. Im confident itll go up back to $70 sooner than later though. Probably not the best idea to go with a financial stock given the news but whatever.

We sell at the first big surge, driven by news, that pushes it at or above $4.50 imo. Gauging the peak will be tough but this is still a safe hold for a good long while. I expect a very big announcement this Thursday. If you want to play it very safe you exit before Thursday's presentation though since it may be somewhat underwhelming to expectations (that seem high given its movement-- to me that makes me think this is probably good news though).

But we possibly only sell half. I'm not sure? The problem is I feel like this is a safe $7 stock within a year from now just based on its approved drug (meaning the pipeline could push it much higher if it pans out well) and current market cap, but you're basically aiming to buy back in on the dip after the news.

Boooo TRVN! Really though, I got in too early. Not sure how everyone else here knew when the bottom was to get in.

I think I wouldve been down $15k at that point. No way I couldve stomached that ride.

I mean I didn't know where the bottom was, neither did Shadow Dino as evidence by his claims of bagholding.

I was down $1200 which relative to our portfolio size was worse. I just kept buying as it kept going down to bring my average down closer to the bottom.

Moral of the story is believing in your stock is important. If you'd played it like me your average would be around $2 a share and you could sell for 50% gains right now.

Also I will say as a warning as someone who has been watching these bio penny stocks for months now

If it plunges down on no news you can find it's usually not news but just people with a lot of money trying to scare you and get your shares for cheap.

Of course there is a chance it actually is news and they just know before you which is why the scare tactic works but you should pretty much never set a stop loss unless it's a price you don't mind getting out at (so probably not Moonroof friendly stocks)

Side note anyone who believes my ATHX propaganda I think the $2 call at 1/15/21 is going to be the safest route to get good returns. They're pretty cheap right now. Try to grab them for $0.65 a pop or less if you can. I'm thinking the stock price will surge between now and then well above $2.65 (their partner Healios is expected to have news early January) and if it doesn't you probably want to avoid the stock anyway.

I was eating a 30% loss at one point on TVRN. Just held that bag because I wanted to see what would happen.

Another variable here is that I am playing with significantly higher dollar amounts than most of you, which is affecting my rationale. I understand that its all relative to how much we individually have, but putting in 25% of $100k is much more strenuous than 25% of $1,000.

I currently have 60% of my portfolio in it, and not a ton of savings that aren't in the stock market. Yeah that's only like 6000 bucks but I guarantee you I would have more stress than you if I was just playing the stock like a sliding number that randomly goes up and down.

But I mean I did the DD for you. The DD is "they have a morphine alternative that's FDA approved" it's just a matter of being patient at this point unless you have some reason to believe morphine, a substance villified as an abused opioid, will keep a stranglehold on the market.

ATHX is the one that requires actual speculation. TRVN requires only patience and some skill in picking when you make your money to maximize that. (which I'm sure I'll do horribly with but Chris should clean up on)

Investor thing was today not tomorrow, at about 30 minutes ago, ending in about 10 minutes

So if you wanted the 'super safe' out you needed to take it a while ago, and if you don't want to gamble on a disappointing meeting you sell now. I of course will be holding but yeah this is the safe exit door. Sorry didn't double check that day too hard cause I was holding regardless.

I'm happy to make any money! I didn't do much research and I bet this stock will keep getting better I just have too many stocks and need to start consolidating into the ones I do know about (that aren't NKLA)
