Usually the bus, mother's boyfriend if I missed the bus. In the afternoons I'd walk home if I had the last period free.

Community college: public bus

Walked, I lived very close to school so even at a really nice slow walk it took less than 10 minutes to get there.

Bus up until junior year, then I sometimes drove, then usually drove.

I was raised by a single Father so we just winged it.How I got to school would change. Elementary me and my friends would ride our bikes since it was only 3 blocks away though.

And yeah it's weird hearing schools telling kids not to walk to school.I mean what are they gonna do about it?

When I was in elementary school, my mom would walk us because we only had one car and my dad needed it for work. When I was older, they had a second car so my mom would give me a ride most days, or another family member.

Took the bus until I was in college, then I took the lightrail to the bus.

Drove to school from k-7, took a transit bus from grades 8-10 and drove myself for the last two years of high school.

Parents drove in elementary and high school (until i started driving), school bus in middle school.

Mostly walked, I never lived too far from school. Except for my freshman year, when I lived in a small town outside the city and had to take the bus in. Senior year I lived right across the street from school.

I could see it being a liability issue in an area with a high crime rate or a rural environment with no paved sidewalks or something.

My school was a K-12 and it was in the school handbook. Looking back, it was probably just a rule to keep the little kids from trying to walk to school? Also, I went to school mostly in the early 2000s, so the culture had changed. My father always thought it was bizarre that no kids walked to my school because he walked a mile to school every day as a kid.

It was a rural area. No sidewalks, no public transit, and lots of dirt/gravel roads. Also, a lot of kids lived like... half hour drives from school.

idk man. I probably wouldn't have been allowed to walk even if it wasn't forbidden by my school. My mom was crazy overprotective and wouldn't let me even walk around the neighborhood when I was a teenager lol
