where did they come from in the 1800s?
well I mean they were albanian that settled in a village of albanians in montenegro. they took on a montenegrin last name and I don't know anything about them before that. i'm a 1st generation immigrant in america so I don't mean we have a long history here or anything. it's pretty rough with no records

Nope. I'm American! Ancestors have been here for 150-300 years... Irish more recently, British was older. Appalachia and certain midwest cities had Irish communities, like West Virginia and Pittsburgh. That's how I slipped through the cracks

That area is a mix of isolated mountain spots and a crossroad from eastern to western europe, kind of similar to Iran so no telling what could've happened lol

this shit is giving me brainworms dude. Im just endlessly categorizing. I'm not using DNA but rather I'm going through all their archived records. Tbh I am SHOCKED by how much they have archived, especially because my perception of my family is as backwater-types. Ultimately I'm trying to trace back to what country each line immigrated from and I'll add that up

also do you yall know much about the actual ancestors part? It was easy af to trace my white ancestors because they were basically non first born tudors that didn't benefit from the English inheritance law and went to Virginia and etc. I want to know what African tribes I'm from because those areas are too broad.
I've never looked into it, but people from my culture (especially older people) are into oral history, so when my dad was alive, he tried to teach me and my brother about some of his family line, and my mom said that she can trace her family back to the "6th dynasty", whatever that means.

I guess that it gets more detailed as more people from those regions participate.

because mine was more generalized until I started getting more and more updates saying that there were changes to my results, or something like that.
