Like that vid, Its one thing to just be attending a Trump rally, nothing wrong with that and people should not be punished for their political beliefs. But its pretty fucked up that people are proudly cheering and hollering when Trumps gets racial about it lol.

I mean people get fired for making racist comments on facebook accounts associated with their real selves or have their workplace linked to it or when acting a fool and being Karens out in public which is fair. Why would a company want someone working for them thats bringing them negative attention.

I think that if a company felt that an employee who clearly identified with racists or xenophobic remarks would be creating a uncomfortable work environment for his or her coworkers, then it would be well within its rights to terminate his or her employment.

This is a huge pet peeve of mine. Just use 'their' and not "he or she". I fucking hat that shit because I have to do these online classes every year for work and they say it all the fucking time. "If he or she has an issue. . .", not just say, "if THEY have an issue." Bugs the shit out of me because I have to listen to the audio and if they just said 'they/their' it would make the classes go quicker

Let's just forward this video to the HR department and he'll be gone in a jiffy

Thing is. the reason trump does what he does is because his political career is literally nothing to him. losing it doesnt mean shit so why not see how much you can get away with. this is literally all just a joke and fun for him. Losing his political career wont affect his way of life or standard of living.

He isnt like other politicians where its literally their real/main career, their lifes work where if they lose their job they lose their source of income and way of life. ffs i honestly dont even believe Trump campaigned with real intention of becoming the president. It was just a joke/side gig to him because.....heck why not, hes a billionaire who has experienced every luxury in life in excess, whats there to lose? Then when people ate up the memes he just kept rolling with it and just keeps adding to the menu whatever the crowd eats up.

On the flip side, years of being taught that they/their is not a grammatically correct substitute for an individual of unknown gender means I do not use it as such out of habit.

And I'm aware that it is largely accepted now but it still sounds incorrect.

It's always sounded correct to me when describing a hypothetical person. They/their is 1 syllable, he or she/him or her is f'n 3. Drives me nuts, lol.

I'm not saying people are wrong, but when you have to listen to 4 hours of audio when it could be down to 3 if they just changed that, I would be much more happy.

However, when they describe a player in the rules of a game as "him/his/he" that actually upsets me. Again, just say Player/Dealer/whatever or Their

The use of They/Their/Them as a singular pronoun is still a point of contention for formal writing, despite it's colloquial use going back a long ass time. The only reason it has started to get more traction in that sphere now is because of movements to be more inclusive to people who do not identify as he or she. And I have been out of any sort of education now for nearly 10 years.

I don't have any particular issue with it, but it just wasn't how I was trained to write.

I just always found it extremely stupid to describe a player in a rule book as a male. Girls play games too. I never understood this from a very early age. It just never sat right with me

Also, imo [with zero back up, lol], English is the language with the most flexible rules. For example growing up I was told to never start a sentence with "and", and once I started to read more books, I saw people did this a lot.

English is stupid

That isn't proper English. Maybe you should take a couple classes at your local community college.

He used to be used in situations where you didn't know gender but that has rapidly fallen out of use for whatever reason, I guess it's pretty similar to the attempt to drop Latino for Latinx that's going around.

I think just about everyone can agree that the neutral 'he' is extremely dated at this point and has no business in just about anything but a Boy Scout handbook (well prior to 2019).

And English, like any language evolves, but formal and academic writing typically takes a bit longer to catch up to colloquial usage. I mean as recently at 2015, the Washington Post's stylebook basically said that they as a singular pronoun should be used as an absolute last resort, unless referring to a non-binary person's preferred pronoun.

Yup. If I had a business with a large group of minorities, I wouldnt really want an unabashed Trump supporter amongst us
