Yep. For years, no game could used the word "Edge" in their title because he would sue them, because he supposedly had a monopoly on the word in the context of games.

But then he went after EA for Mirror's Edge, and got his ass handed to him, and then quit the game industry in disgust/disgrace to become a minister.

Monster appears in games and sponsors e-sports players, they wouldn't have a reason to pull petty, ridiculous shit like trying to call infringement over the word "monster"

i wonder why someone spread this lie to begin with

Soul Blade first
then Soul Calibur so US and JP has the same title.
