...even as Femto, is planning to usurp control from the rest of the God Hand?

I was thinking, as the kinda man he used to be, he wouldn't be satisfied sharing control with the others or following orders from some kinda higher power.

I know that it was cut from the manga, but there's the Idea of Evil that the God Hand comes from, iirc, so maybe my dude's trying to take over control.

I think that's a very real possibility, yes. As it is right now, the God hand cannot be defeated because they exist in their own realm. Griffith destroying the dragon roads will merge the two realities and, on paper, is being presented as a way to let the godhand rule over the planet. But... the realities merging also makes them vulnerable and griffith is absolutely spiteful enough the pull off that kind of long con with the sole purpose of killing them so that he can be the lone ruler, or even just as revenge for manipulating him in the first place.

Possible. Griffith is probably bored with Falconia. His life is him trying to achieve upward and a storyline of him taking over the god hand would be great.

yea, I was just thinking that I could see Guts eventually killing Griffith (but the story might subvert our expectations), and I could see Skull Knight taking care of Void, but there's still Conrad and Alan

but idk if things will be be handled as in other manga, and I thought the Griffith coup/taking over thing would be a cool twist

Can you explain the plot to me? I read a bit of the manga but it was poorly translated (the version I had), so Ive basically only watched the 97 (99?) anime series. What happens after that?

the '97 series doesn't show it, but Guts and Casca are saved by Skull Knight, who seems to have a grudge against a particular member of the God Hand - Void

after Skull Knight tries to fight the God Hand for a bit, especially Void, he drags Guts and Casca out of the Eclipse area.

Guts and Casca are given time to heal, but it turns out that Casca's mind had been broken by the Eclipse, being raped by Griffith, etc., so on top of looking for a way to get revenge against Griffith, he's also looking for a way to restore Casca's mind.

then some weird stuff about a lonely, discarded person who sacrifices himself in a reverse-Eclipse and the stillborn child of Casca and Guts that was tainted by Griffith's demonic energy that all came together to intertwine the astral and physical worlds, and allow Griffith to be reborn into a physical body.

during their journey, Guts and Casca (still mentally broken) make some friends, and they find out that the Fairy King might be able to help Casca, so they go to the Fairy Island, and Casca had her mind restored.

on Griffith's side, he's seen as this messianic figure, since people dreamt of his rebirth, who's there to save the Midland Empire, and was the only one capable of bringing humans and demons together in his armies.

it's been a long time since I've read most of this stuff, so there are likely holes/missing parts in my summary.
