it was very well made, but it was surreal watching this sony-created documentary about nintendo vs sega on a sony-owned streaming platform that ended with "and then sony came and destroyed them both."

it was legit just a hard stop as soon as the Saturn came out framed around the Sonic balloon deflating at the Thanksgiving Parade. I think the last thing in the movie was "and then Playstation sold way more than the Saturn!!!" followed by credits. I get that Nintendo vs Sega really stopped being a fight around then but what a bizarre way to end things, there was no "this is how things changed for the companies we focused 99% of this documentary on," it was "sony came and won." i actually started belling laughing as soon as the credits came up.

it might has well have ended with a link to pre-order the PS5.

i think a better ending would have been something like "and now in the present sega makes games for nintendo consoles" or they ended maybe on Sonic Adventure on the GameCube, i think the ultimate focus should have been like "hey this industry is constantly evolving and changing but in a way where rivalries can become wonderful partnerships" rather than "did u kno sony is da best"
