In what is surely a unique case in the world of superhero movies, Justice League is headed for reshoots nearly three years after it debuted in theaters. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zack Snyder is gearing up for a week long shoot in October 2020 as work continues on the Snyder Cut of Justice League.

They're reshooting all the scenes where Henry Cavill had a mustache now that he doesn't have one.

No other difference, just getting rid of his weird CGI lip.

You seem to misunderstand...Those scenes themselves were reshoots of scenes that existed before Joss Whedon came in. Whedon changed the story and dialogue, which caused the problem of needing to bring Henry Cavill back on for reshoots after he grew his mustache.

The weird CGI lip was never in Snyder's version, and there are a few clips in the Whedon version that were originally shot by Snyder and don't have the CGI lip.

So...no, that's not what's happening. The CGI lip was invented by Whedon to begin with.

Because people weren't willing to accept that the guy who made a weak Superman movie and a bad World's Finest movie wasn't also probably going to make a bad Justice League movie, since Snyder had to pull out last minute and cut up by Whedon, obviously the original movie was going to be perfect and if Snyder just had a chance to release his version it would be so much better.

Or its a test to see if studios can change what people didn't like about an old movie and people still come to see it, because that's a whole new avenue of moviemaking that opens up.

Interesting news. I'm excited to see Snyder's Justice League. Batman v Superman is still better than almost every MCU movie. Let's hope we get another epic from Snyder.

Imagine there is a movie. One part of the movie doesn't hold up to criticism so that part is removed and another scene is shot to replace it. Watching the movie again, the new scene doesn't agree with another scene so a second scene is shot.
This goes on until no part of the original movie remains. Is that a new movie or the old movie?
Let's day you restore the old parts of the movie from the recycle bin and reform them so that it's indistinguishable from the original movie before editing? Which movie is the old and which one is the new one?

I have to be at least curious about it. Theres like twice as much footage as the original film that was released to theatres, and on top of that now theyre filming new stuff. That said, I thought Batman Vs. Superman was hot garbage so Im not exactly expecting this to be good.

This has gone on for about as long as cinema has existed. If test audiences don't like something, it get redone before everyone else gets to see the film.

Blame George Lucas for setting the precedent of doing this after the general release.

More often than not, plotholes and bizarre continuity are just left in there anyway, in the hope that nobody notices.

It would actually be hilarious to see the movie industry take a cue from video games, selling beta versions to the public at full price and then half-fixing them with post-release patches whenever they get around to it.

This I disagree with though

in the age of streaming, most drama television shows are essentially 8 hour movies cut into pieces, and TV is better for it. Gives time to flesh out characters and build a world

imagine if a season of, say, the boys was cut to a single film. Like, yeah you could probably do it by dropping some scenes and sub plots, but is it better for it?
