Considering the quality of Amazon's actual games they've made this probably won't do much better than stadia.

The fact that it's a Game Pass model rather than a la carte the way Stadia is gives it a chance.

Luna Controller is Alexa-enabled and connects directly to the cloud to effortlessly control your game, featuring a multiple-antenna design that prioritizes un-interrupted Wi-Fi for lower latency gaming. In fact, our testing showed a reduction in roundtrip latency when playing Luna Controller with Cloud Direct vs. Luna Controller via Bluetooth, with reductions of between 17 to 30 milliseconds among PC, Fire TV, and Mac. Because the Luna Controller connects directly to cloud servers, players can easily switch between screens such as Fire TV to mobile phone without additional pairing or configuration changes.

that's interesting if it works as expected. But i'm not the target demographic. Gamepass is a better gaming rental subscription for me.

Did I read that correctly? The controller has WiFi built in so it's always connected?

that's how i read it, so it's more responsive then being on bluetooth then going to the cloud from the device. It's difficult to believe it's going to work as expected, but it's a neat idea if it does. Especially as it alleviates needing to pair the controller with multiple devices. Which the X1 controller hates doing.

This.
A "netflix" model is vastly more preferable than a "vudu" model. There's no illusion of ownership in the former, while ownership is nothing but an illusion in the latter.

Yeah I've literally got a separate Xbox controller for my phone, PC, and Xbox because it's a pain.

I know you can buy an "always connected" Kindle so the tech is there, but for streaming games it's going to take a lot more than downloading books.

I've always been in rural places where the Kindle didn't have any service so it's not perfect. I'm definitely interested to see how it works though.

Seems like that would be done server-side, which makes for some very interesting possibilities.
