Tyranny is a great game as well, by Obsidian.
Disco Elysium is bloody fantastic as well.
Planescape is good too, seeing as you played the old isometric games.

Seconded for Tyranny. Just go in expecting to be left wanting more and knowing that there will probably never ever be a sequel. It ends on huge sequel bait but it didn't do very well so there will most likely not be a continuation which sucks.

Just as Tyranny hit its stride and started to get real interesting it was over which sucked but it's a good game to play on its own.

Atom RPG is kind of simple, but it's good. I think its sequel, Atom RPG: Trudograd or whatever is out too, but I haven't played it.

Nwn2 Mask of the Betrayer is great, the rest not so much. The best thing about them are the player made modules as some fantastic ones. Or multiplayer if you're hard core into roleplaying dnd.

Why I suggested the player made modules! I still play the game occasionally, but the story of the first and second is pretty meh, while their DLC's are far better with 2's Mask of the Betrayer being some damn good stuff.

The original NW2 campaign's big downfall is it suffers hard from early game DnD syndrome in which is makes for an incredibly slow and boring video game experience. Once you start getting some levels under your belt though it picks up considerably.
