Christopher Nolan's Tenet Man has lunch with Michael Caine and in the script they call him "Sir Michael."

I don't understand why Nolan does this. Why does he do these things to pull me out of his movies. Like in Inception, a movie starring Marion Cotillard, famous for playing Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose, they use La Vie en Rose as the song to wake up the Inceptifiers. It's so weird to me. Like what did Christopher Nolan's Tenet gain from referring to Michael Caine as Sir Michael? As far as I can tell all it got was a few chuckles in the theater.

Was he reminding us that yes, that Michael Caine-looking man there was in fact Michael Caine?
