the problem about non-progression, skill based games is that if you're not grinding the right gameplay mechanics then you're basically not leveling up in any capacity.

eg. leaning how to korean back dash ---------------------> learning all the characters' ten hit strings

Tekkens also the kind of fighter where you can think youve made massive improvements and are actually becoming good, but then you play a total noob and they expose all your flaws and completely own you.
